Not too dissapointed about todays result cos we werent goin in expecting anything. Could've got a goal or two but tbh I think Liverpool were the worthy winners today (we offered little and sat back early on). I am actually more angry at the seats around me taken up by Liverpool fans and the ref being incapable of making his own decision without being pressured by players or fans.

Oh, and half time penalties was the most exciting thing today

Watched the match in my local - full of Liverpool fans. To be fair quite a few said the score wasn't just. Was a penalty. If that had happened at Anfield and a Liverpool player had gone down it would have been given. However some of the Scouse fans were very biased in their opinions during the game it was embarrassing!

I felt we were too passive throughout.

Gracia avoids another inquest with talk of poor refereeing after another home spanking. Hopefully Gino doesn't read social media or this forum.

Very boring game, the halftime penalty shoot-out was miles better. Cracking entertainment.

3-0 was flattering, we were far too respectful I thought.

Pereyra was poor repeatedly didn't make enough runs in behind.

Deulofeu was quite average too, he's not a striker.

Deeney should've scored instead of passing.

Excellent Foster save from Salah's free header.

Penalty on Hughes? Haven't seen replays yet. He was quiet too.

Why is Mariappa still starting? Kabasele whilst he's made some mistakes is far better.

Masina was excellent, really like him.

That Douccoure run late in the game was insane.

They were just better and more clinical, to be honest.

I have to say, I don't want to sound spoilt and I love seeing the likes of Pereyra, Doucoure & Deulofeu at Watford, players who could genuinely be playing for Europa League and above level teams. However, I'm just a bit bored of the Prem? 1 point from games against Newcastle, Southampton & Liverpool is just depressing. Our season is pretty much over, we'll finish somewhere between 9th & 15th and apart from prize money, there's not much difference in terms of what that means next season. Then I look at The Championship with only six points separating 1st & 7th and new league leaders every week I can't help but be a bit envious.

Yeah but we got to share a pitch with LIVERPOOL and players like Alex Arnold and James Milner in the BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD.

Much better than winning games and being entertained in a mickey mouse league.

But if we win too many games in the Mickey Mouse League we'd end up back in the Donald Duck Division that is the EPL.

It's an Escher painting made real.

Today is a game where our only hope was to keep tight and launch attack on the break and hope for something.

There were 2 factors which did for us. One was our own profligate finishing, but moreover, the referee favouring our opponents in many decisions and in one or 2 absolutely key decisions.

When games are so tight, These fine margins are everything and decide the outcome.

Not to worry though, all the media in the week was about how Moss was anti Liverpool but now he's deflected all that and nobody will mention anything about it. Shagging Watford once again will be forgotten by everyone by Sunday morning.

On Javi, I think he got it right today. We can't match Liverpool for skill or class but we made it tough for them for 70 minutes and should have been at least 1 up by then.

We gave it a go after going behind, but the Free kick for me looked harsh (admittedly without replay). It looked to me like Firmino started pulling Mapps' shirt to get in front of him and mapps retaliated in kind and got spotted.

3-0 seems very harsh as I thought it was a decent performance.

Del went off because he flatters and makes bad decisions. Success did well when he came on.

Deeney was OK. Not brilliant, but up against **** Van Dyke, it's a tough gig.

Capoue didn't have his best game. Doucoure was better than him today.

Gray, worst player ever. Only in the pitch 2 seconds and immediately the game is over.

Contrary to what most have said here, I thought Gracia got most of it right. Deeney did ok, and then we went a bit more direct so put both isaac and deeney together. GD is still probably not match fit. Keeping Liverpool out first half with only a couple of sniffs also says JG got it right to that point, Mariappa and Cathcart were both very good, can't complain about kabasele.

The frustration is the ref bottled the penalty. If that goes in its a different game. Even if they got back and were 2-1 up, we're throwing kitchen sinks at them, with a man advantage for 10 mins. Moss has history with Liverpool, so i think he gave them the rub of the green to avoid the scouse inquisition. Henderson was an idiot. So irritated tonight.

FA Cup Squibba, you’re missing the excitement of the FA Cup which were going for this season.

If I may say, you’re sounding a bit insouciant, which the lovely Miss Whittaker told me is not good.

Not for me Clive. Liverpool have been a bit flakey away from home and after international breaks. To allow them the ball and to dictate was playing right into their hands.

Had we had a go and lost 3-0, fair enough. To have one shot on target in the game was Walter style stuff and was pretty terrible.

Most Cess pool fans are embarrassing. When another team plays Abu Dhabi United they whinge and whine that Team X has not done them a favour by getting points off them or that they are playing negatively. Conveniently ignoring the fact that the way they spend the money with a few other clubs means that other teams cannot compete.

And to add to that this fat useless turd once again is allowed to officiate a match of ours. He is unfit and blind and so are his linesmen. If I was Gino I would put in an official complaint to the FA about this ***** Moss. Useless tosser. And as for Klopp a truly annoying figure on the touchline the gurning grinning idiot. Remember the pathetic moans about the grass being too dry or matches being cut short by television demand. Odious ******* as well. Cess pool can keep spending. They can sod off to this ******** of a Superleague and they will still win nothing.

Watched second half as it was live in Namibia (final night on holiday). Disappointing, looked a clear penalty and we were wasteful in possession in final third and they attacked quickly on counter. From second half showing 3.0 flattered them

After the games against Southampton and Newcastle we were better than I expected for about an hour - tight, kept our shape, closed them down, were patient in creating chances - but, again we can't take them. Thought Deeney was vetter than others on here think. Deulofeu is ineffective and too lightweight. Mariappa is out of his depth in central defence and in the premier league, gave them that free kick for the second goal. Liverpool in a different class really, in terms of their ability to defend and decisiveness of their attack ...

I’m just resigned to penalty shouts being called in favour of the big 6 when refs are on first name terms with their players.
    Totally biased.
If that was at Anfield it would be a penalty all day long.
Can’t get upset by it or it would do my head in.

Just have to have a bottle of wine, sit back and watch Wales vs Bokke.
And hear the ref explain decisions on the fly so no one is in doubt.
It’s a difficult sport to referee but at major games they get it right by explanation and discussion with linesmen and TMO that everyone can hear and understand. If people disagree with the decision, at least you hear the thought process that goes through the refs brain.

What went through Moss’s brain was
‘I £Ukked up with pens at Spurs so I owe the Pool one, and it will be nice to hear my name and see me on MOTD - no penalty’.

Shame the ref couldn't be neutral but Liverpool were a class above us and would have won in any scenario. Thought that was one of the best Liverpool teams I've seen in recent years.
Unlike many sat around me, I like Mo Salah. An honest player who is a joy to watch.

Best thing about today? A genuine sellout with seemingly all seats taken. It'll be all the Liverpool ST holders in the family stand.

Shame we didn't get that penalty at 0-0 for the foul on Hughes .

Didn’t the ref v Southampton admit (to Yoshida) that he wrongly disallowed the Austin goal? That’s what 5L claimed, anyway.

I take the point though. Just wanted to suggest rugby refs weren’t entirely blameless either.

I don't see how we'd have 'had a go" without being hammered today.

They were on top of us all the time and gave us no room.

As it was, we gave ourselves a chance of nicking something, though that is not how it transpired, however when playing against vastly superior opposition it's likely to end that way.

If we'd "gone for it" I could have seen Liverpool out of sight by half time and an embarrassing final score.

    Opinions though.

Thought we would lose today, disciplined first half, flattering score for Liverpool in the second.
Deeney back to being ffing useless, slow and completely ineffective. Van Dyke has dominated every time he has played against him, even when playing for the Saints.
Success looks far better prospect up front.

Delofeu, Hughes, Pererya flitted in and out of game. Been disappointed with Decoure's passing and vision in recent matches.
Some good saves from Foster but at fault for the first and maybe should have done better with the second? Also disappointed resorted to kicking long when obvious we would get no joy with Deeney being dominated.
Some big decisions for Gracia, a return for Success, Chalobah to come back in ?

This is what I wrote in the pre-match prediction. "We all know what certain officials are up to. When we get them doing one of our games, we have to write it off."

Certain referees just will constantly give Watford a hard time. It makes playing games when one of these guys are in charge futile. It's no coincidence our two biggest home defeats have been presided over by Jon ****. Both games have been massively influenced by his decisions.

Next season it should be different as VAR will make it much harder for these cheats to hide and get away with it.

The game was in the balance and had we been giving a clear penalty the entire game changes. Of course against a quality side like Liverpool, they can quickly take it away from you, but we have to be given what we deserve. Liverpool survive and manage to score the important first goal. The first goal in a finely balanced game is always huge. Once that happens to game takes a different direction. We have to attack more and they are brilliant at counter-attacking football.

Still we can only look after our own game. If an official wants to influence it in a certain way, he has that power and we can do nothing about that. I thought Watford played well, and yet again did not get what we deserved.

One thing we really have to improve on, and I've been saying it all season, is our finishing. We create so many genuinely good scoring opportunities but are extremely poor at taking them. That has to change as this is really hurting us.

I see Dodi Lukebakio scored a hat-trick today against Bayern Munich in a 3-3 draw!!

Like I said in another thread a few weeks ago, the lot of being a mid-table Premier League team. We will finish 10th - 15th this season, and probably will continue to do so until we one day go down. This is just how it is now. All very meh really.

Agree. There is always some inherent bias even if it is subliminal, probably in all sports.

EPL refs may make a private admission of a mistake to an individual but the difference for Joubert is he made his admission to the media and the world. I was also spitting blood when it happened (awarding a game winning controversial penalty in the last minutes), it spoilt a brilliant underdog performance by the Scots.

EPL refs are ‘protected’ and I don’t think they are even allowed to make such an admission as it may ‘bring the game into disrepute’, although I may be completely wrong on that.
