Well he single-handedly got England though the the quarters in the World Cup, but most people seem to overlook that one. Of course he's still a good footballer.
If he came to us, he might build the celebrity quota quite nicely, I can just see myself now, talking through the finer points of the game* with Tom and Katie, in the Rookery. *strictly limited girly knowledge of course, if they ask me what the offside rule is I'm screwed.
I think you would have to be a brave person to explain the offside rule I could not and I have been watching football for many years
Whats hard about it... put simply a player is offside if he is in front of the ball and there are less than two players between him and the goal (one can be the goalkeeper) when the ball is played by one of his own team mates and he is deemed to be interfering with play. That is my interpretation of it.. however like hornetmaster says whatever the referee decides normally goes!!
I can hardly imagine Mr. Beckham coming to Vicarage Road - not quite the glamourability he'd be hoping for! However, it is handily situated within close proximity to "Beckingham Palace". Hmmm...food for thought there!
