If 4 points in 21 turns to 4 points in 27 he is easily gone - but my guess is lose to Stoke and gone by Thursday

He'll be gone if we lose tomorrow and fail to beat 'Boro, I would think. Could quite easily see both happening.

I'm actually on ZZs side, when he says that performances matter.

With this many injuries, I'd accept 2/3 points over the next two games, if we really put in a shift and do ourselves proud.

I want to see the players come off the pitch looking angry/ sad/ exhausted when they don't pick up a point.

If I don't see that in the next two games, then I'm jumping straight on the Walt sacking bandwagon.

If that is the case then who would the Pozzos have lined up - The Belgium guy or Guidolin, - my choice would be Gary Rowett, but no doubt another foreign coach would be the favourite

You said after Stoke that if Wally failed to beat Everton he'd be under immense pressure to beat Sunderland and face the boot. So here we are again. New fixtures same prediction. You'll get it right eventually.

I think tomorrow will be very telling, I don't care if we lose as I expect to; but the manner will make a world of difference. If we play the same crap hoofing with 3 at the back, can't (be bothered to) defend, and constantly rely on a little bit of magic from Amrabat whilst showing little heart, then he has to go. I watched Burnley today and the difference in heart and commitment was absolutely incredible. I genuinely think this squad at 2-0 down show as little fight as that Villa team last year.

This is all redundant, despite what the outside world thinks, Gino is actually far from trigger happy. The Pozzo's clearly don't like changing head coach in the middle of the season and I just can't see them getting rid. My prediction is we trudge to the end of the season before swapping coach and doing this is all again in 12 months time.

  7. Only posting this because you asked, from the West Brom thread. As I got this one right, I am going to assume your good grace in not expecting me to provide further proof.

Yes, maybe I said something to that effect. But we did beat Everton, so the scenario I said did not play out did it?

This is not a point scoring contest. I want to be wrong because if I'm right, we all lose. The club will be damaged by sacking yet another coach. I'm not the owner, but I think we should all have a good idea how his mind works by now.

He does not tolerate this kind of slump in form. All the pointers are there if you care to look. The club is not in a healthy state. There are too many obvious deficiencies on the pitch and this is what will concern the Pozzo's.

Injuries are one thing, but when you are in this situation, you make damn sure your team is disciplined and well organised. Neither is true about us and no one can disagree with that. It's not like we're playing a team of kids. Sure we'd like to have our best players available all the time, but the players we are playing right now have loads of experience and there's no excuse for a lack of application.

It's this general malaise that will be sounding the alarm bells the most. We have to be showing a unity and team spirit. It's all missing.

Well in this case I agree with you in that if we lose meekly to Stoke and Boro then he's in trouble. The point being made was that if you post it every game then at some point you are bound to be correct!

  11. hornetboy1

    hornetboy1 First Team Captain

But we didn't lose all three. I'm not sure why you want to play the point scoring game, but you are making out I call for his head every time we lose, which is not true. I've never once said I want him sacked. I'm just predicting what I think the club will do if a certain scenario played out.

People may read something and it sticks in their head. They know HB1 is a bad guy, so it's a stick to be beaten with. I'm not into these games, and I rarely remember what anyone writes, and I certainly don't use it against them for future battles.

I just like to discuss current situations, which are relevant at the time they are written.

Football is fast paced. It's organic and constantly changes. Two wins and all this pressure on the coach goes away......two defeats and he will probably be gone.

  12. Sorry, this is purely about you continually saying 'next two games' 'next three games', as you have done again in this thread. Go back and see that that is what I have been talking about, and that is the point you are responding to.

I mean no offence, I am pointing out to you something that you do not even remember doing, yet at the time you posted on the WBA thread hou accused me of all sorts of things regarding running you down, rather than listen to what I said, we concluded that after the Everton game when you posted to me that you are apt to an emotional response but we are all fans, and I positively acknowledged what you said.

But as I said then, when we argue passionately in reaction to events, we should be mindful of what we say and accuse others of.

As I said, and you had no recollection of, you have been predicting Walter's demise for a long time now. That is my point to you, and I think it is conclusively proven at your own request. I hope you have the grace to acknowledge that.

It was the accusation you made that I say he is going to be sacked after every loss that I pulled you up on, because it wasn't true, and I've explained that. You saying that eventually I would get it right, which is unfair as I never say things without good cause.

You had an impression of my meaning which wasn't correct. I've just corrected this opinion you had. I hope you now have a better understanding.

There's a huge amount riding on tomorrow night and it's mostly down to the performance rather than the actual result. Another meek surrender or an absolute sh*t off 0-0 draw and he could be gone, it comes down to wheather they want to back him in the window or not and being January the 2nd time is not on Walter's side unfortunately.

We will definitely find out what the players think of him tomorrow night as they know he is on borrowed time.I reckon they have no respect for him and don't give a rats ass if he goes myself.Hope I am wrong, should be a good night out with the lads anyway, quite looking forward to it.

  17. Sorry. But your PM is ridiculous. I didn't ask for it, and though I will respect your request not to divulge its contents, I will say I think it is very silly, and is producing an enormous trace on my bullspooh radar. Please do not lower yourself to this again.

Regarding the rest, I am sad to say that yet again you have done more, at least in my eyes, to prove yor detractors right. That is a real shame.

Three occassions at least you have said it after we lost a game. My point exactly, proven at your own request, and you still have no grace to acknowledge it.

Fair enough, if you have been pleased with our general performances through August, September, October and November, then that is your opinion and nothing anyone can say will shake it.

    We just have different standards.

  23. Yep. I am pleased we got up to seventh. Pleased, despite a horrendous injury list that we are still standing twelfth at mid point.

Like you say, we have different standards, and yours are much higher than mine clearly. Which means I will tend to be happier throughout my life than you, and will spend less time worrying about things that don't require worry.

    Its a good life.

    Sorry, but that doesn't follow.

When you want higher standards then you tend to achieve them and benefit from the rewards - and falling short is rarely an issue.

When you want lower standards then you tend to achieve them and suffer the consequences - and falling short is often disastrous.

    You are welcome.

What head coach in their right mind would want to take us on right now?

We're a threadbare, injury ravaged squad with an attitude problem. Enough quality to stay up but nothing more.

...and JB, instead of childishly disliking a post and running off like a schoolboy ringing someone's doorbell and running away, why don't you answer this...

You said, in his defence, Deeney routinely turns up pre-season fat and unfit, but always sorts it out and starts knocking in the goals. So how long do we have to wait before he decides to participate? Any chance this season, maybe? Yes? No? Next season possibly?

I hope for all our sakes, he starts to get his act together against Stoke, as he is stretching his credibility in everyone's eyes. Except yours, of course.

I don't follow what you mean by misunderstanding. You said "this is the first time I've said he'll be categorically gone if we lose by a certain time". Myself and another poster pointed out you did exactly that in the WBA and Stoke threads. I'm not trying to be an idiot I'm just pointing out you have certainly done it before. I don't see what our misunderstanding is to be honest. As it stands you may well be right on this occasion but whatever.

People don't want lower standards do they? They are just pointing out that thinking that we should be gunning for the top 10 spots is unrealistic compared to our wage bill (and especially with injury list).

What do you think is par for this season and next? I'll tell you what it should be - surviving in the league with a bit to spare with the odd beating of a more fancied team. Hopefully some attacking football and a cup run thrown in. That honestly is it if you look at the financial reality. Whether Mazzari can deliver that is up for debate.

I was on my phone and accidentally pressed the dislike button when trying to scroll down. If I was going to dislike one of your utterly risible posts I'd have to dislike them all and I obviously don't have the time and dedication to this place that you seem to have.

And I'll answer your question regarding Deeney when you afford me the same courtesy and explain why you thought it as acceptable to spread complete lies about me on here. I will converse and debate with anyone on here whether I agree with them or not, that's the beauty of a forum. However, I draw the line in doing so when the person in question is a pathetic coward who throws around accusations and make ridiculous points only to consistently slink off without a word when they are stood up to and proven wrong.

  31. No, that is what someone with high standards would say when they realised they'd been worrying about nothing all their life.

In what world is Rowett a good choice? Because he's British? He literally got sacked for playing awful football and was replaced by a guy not deemed good enough to manage us. I do wonder what goes through some people's heads.

Also what does that last sentence even mean?

Arsenal - Top tier team. LOSE.

Boro - Fighting relegation / below us. WIN.

Stoke - High mid table. Any result is possible.

Bournemouth - Low mid table. Any result is possible.

That is literally the most diverse bag of games you could get how is it possibly "not great"?

I think it is pretty clear they do. But that is fine, it is everyone's right.

For me, I always think any sports person or team should strive for "above average" in whatever sports environment they happen to be in, so in our division we should be striving for top 10. nothing wrong with that .

However, with the current squad and coach, I think it is extremely difficult to assess where this squad should be other than by looking at their pedigree and experience and the fact that many of the players we have brought in are well known to the owners - rather than last minute panic buys, as they so rarely play anything like their potential.

Sunderland had 8 players unavailable to them in their game yesterday through injuries and suspension. They played well and managed a draw against Liverpool, who thrashed us. They battled, the ran and ran, they held the ball well, they passed to each other and they played like a team that has spirit - even when there is a gulf in class.

Why do we see such battling performances so rarely?
