Y'know I still think he could do a job for us in the prem esp now we are bring the old boys back, cleverley, Tommy Smith etc . Worth a cheeky £10m bid ?

 

I've been saying this about whenever the topic comes up for almost 2 years now, but will the undeniable truth, highgrade, London Orn et al. keep on denying this truth? Ever since 2014/15 he's been going backwards. Derby fans are now turning against him and even saying he's getting worse for them:

Yeah, well FC Chotěboř play in Czech 'Kraj Vysočina' (Highlands region) league, one of the regional leagues representing the 6th tiers of Czech football - I'm sure even Vydra in his current state could manage a goal or two there...

Our current crop of strikers can't buy a goal, run or look remotely interested but we still find time to have a look at our old strikers, who incidentally possess something we sorely lack - pace - and criticise.

I have no doubt that had Vydra still been with us, he'd have had more impact this season than ****ing Ighalo.

 

Vydra has been criticised of exactly the same things you can say of Deeney and Ighalo this season, except in the Championship. The three of them are all useless.

 

We need to build our dreams on Fessi and Burdhause.

 

I'd still back Vydra to have scored the chance Deeney had one v one with Valdes yesterday

 

That's because Vydra would have got there 2 seconds before Troy as he's not towing a caravan.

Tucked away in the Sun, is a report that Derby ready to cut their losses on Vydra. Happy to take him back as a squad player at £2 million

 

Why after robbing Derby of £9m quid for a player that isn't doing the business would we give them a couple of million quid back for that same player?

 

I like this idea. Pay £2m for a completely useless, ineffective player... we'd be silly not to.

 

If it wasn't for a chronic shortage of foreigner slots in our squad I'd go for this. Still think he could do it in the prem if used in the right way. We've never really discussed this. What do you guys think?

 

Failing under Steve McClarens coaching at Derby should not be the judgement. I believe he has the ability to succeed at our level. I agree it's a punt, but at a pocket money price worth a go IMHO. I doubt we would do so, but the current forwards are hardly running up goal totals to not see dome changes next season. I would prefer him to a Okaka

 

I'd take him back for £2m. He needs his confidence rebuilding and he'd be off and running. I'd happily have him in the squad over Okaka

 

Move on for Christ sake, he would get nowhere near our 25 man squad let alone a place on the bench! We've moved on to much much bigger & better things.

 

Buy him for 2 mil, then loan him out to an ambitious/ desperate championship club for 3 mil a season.

But he hasn't been able to perform under Clarke, McDermott and Pearson either. Surely they can't all be ******s.

 

Because even though he's been poor everywhere else, he's always done well alongside Troy.

I like the idea, at Derby he is a Championship player, but if we buy him, he becomes a Premiership player, ergo, his value goes up, we then sell him to some Chinese team for circa £25 mill. KERCHING!!

 

Not in the second half of his last season with us he didn't.

Also, just look at Iggy for a player who one was good with Troy, then later was poor with Troy.

None of those mangers are currently employed in the role. - Clarke 18 months at WBA and one year a Reading - McDermott lasted only a year at Reading second time round - Pearson sacked in September 2016 (perhaps if he had stayed Vydra may have blossomed). I do take the point that he has not met expectations away from Watford. But was he given a chance by Flores or Walter? You wonder if it was as much about finance as football that saw him leave in the last two summers. I also understand the point that we are now after bigger and better things. But that is not shown to be the case judging by recent recruitment either is it? Amrabat £6 million No Goals - Okaka 9 appearances; 2 goals, fee about £8 million. He is older, less fit than Vydra and has a career average of 1 in 6 compared to Vydras 1 in 4 (Watford 38 goals in 93 appearances); Zarate an average of one goal in 5, but too early to judge. Success 1 goal in 9 (although often cameos off the bench) has hardly set the goal scored table alight. I know it wont happen, but if Vydra did get resigned i would not be unhappy about it.

 

No thanks, we just offloaded one out of form player, we don't need to then go and re-sign another - he's been **** for a while and that's in the Championship. He wouldn't get anywhere near out starting XI, and arguably he'd struggle to get on the bench as well - I don't see us changing from the system so Deeney or Okaka will always be up front with players like Success, Amrabat, Niang and Preyera in support. Vydra is absolute dog poo in comparison.

We all have a soft spot for players like Vydra, Abdi and FF but it's time to move on you clingy meltz

Wouldn't be surprised to see him move to Fulham esp now Joka has just signed a new deal. Glad he's doing well. Perhaps we bring them both back ?

Can't get into Derby's 18 now. Have we got a first refusal clause on him for the summer? Reckon he'd tear the Prem a new one given his form over the last two years.
