For the lazy: Leeds and Birmingham want him on loan.

I can see him going due to squad number constraints. What a pity his agent was so short sighted when he was on such a steep upward development curve when he first started playing for us. If he has another duff season in the championship then he probably won't get a premier league shot. That guy has a lot to answer for in terms of the way things have turned out.

That's Leeds who have already spent £4m on two strikers this summer already.

Despite his agent's questionable actions, if he's good enough he'll make it.

I agree his agent probably just wanted to force a move and make a quick £ but I'm also sure Vydra didn't just go along blindly with what his agent was saying to him. Plus it's Vydra who hasn't taken his chance when out on loan with WBA/Reading obviously other factors come in with systems etc.
The player has all the power at the end of the day if he wants to move/doesn't then that'll generally happen, look at Ighalo for example he could have taken the 'easy' option of Chinese money and I'm sure the club/his agent would have been happy too but he turned it down probably looking at the bigger picture.

Having said that I would love for Vydra to find his spark again though, preferably with us as he has given me great memories and his next choice could really be critical for him. If he goes on loan again there's every chance the squad could well move on past him if it hasn't already.

Play him with Deeney and he will do the business!

  9. Yeah great idea

Lets throw Iggy, who has proven he can score lots of goals at this level, out on his ar5e, just so we can play Vydra, who hasn't proved he can do diddly squat beyond a 3 months in 3 years purple patch

If we need to get rid of 6 non-HG players, Vydra will be one of the first out of the door.

Iggy had a great patch, but I think that will be it for him, I have more faith in Vydra than him and I think many might agree with me?

Agreed that Vydra will be one of the non-HG players who fail to make our squad, I reckon. He'll have to go somewhere and I think Championship is the best offer he'll get.

I would keep both MV and Iggy as sub and form cover for each other. Worked very well that way in the championship.

If Iggy starts, bring MV on for the last 20 and vice versa.
I don't get the "attitude" comments re Matty. Put yourself in his shoes. Always wanted to play in the prem. Fires the winning goal to get us there, signs 5 year deal and is kicked out to Reading who are no where near challenging and don't play to his strengths. While watching Iggy misfiring for months while QSF has no option to replace him as Oulare is so far from being ready. I really think he should be kept even if it's in the bench to keep Iggy on his toes.

Well apparently we didn't go for Berahino because Mazzarri is happy with the strikers he's got. Would we go into a season with just Troy, Iggy, Sinclair and Success to choose from? Vydra has done **** all in the friendlies so far and I don't think he's good enough but they might be thinking they need a 'senior' striker for the bench.

Surely he could do worse than go to Udinese? Better league than Championship and keeps him in the system.

And what about Success and Sinclair? We've lashed out £16.5m on the pair of them. When do they get a run out?

Reading was a level too high at this stage for Vydra.

Might be worth putting him in a league 1 side and see how he gets on.

No doubt Vydra would of been on a clean slate the same as everyone else when Walter walked through the door, seems he hasnt impressed. Guy is quick and knows where the back of the net is, maybe he needs an attitude adjustment.

We have despenced of favourite strikers in the past and lived to tell the tale, ie billy Jennings, John Barnes, Luther, Kevin Phillips, Mark Falco, SGB, Marvin Sordell, and many more all with goals in them, if he goes it will not hinder WFC one little bit!

No doubt about it - his attitude sucks. His body language is dreadful, and I would have thought that that would be the principal reason for sending him elsewhere.

It's a shame because he has been a good player - played in the right position, and with the right people around him (Deeney) he could still do a job.

It's a shame that the Premier League have introduced these new rules that dictate that all clubs are only allowed to have two strikers.

I think this could be his biggest enemy, there's too many 'IFs' surrounding him with the squad being as it is and places so competitive you have to make sure the manager thinks you're a risk worth taking and I'm not sure the new manager will care too much about his previous seasons with us, QSF certainly didn't!

Must of forgotten the 15 goals he scored in his 2nd season? Whilst Ighalo had a similar type of purple patch in the Premier League?

What a stupid thing to say.

  26. Jumbolina

Pretty sure selling Falco and Barnes hurt us at the time! Took us about 10 years to recover from that.

  27. Damn, how did QSF and /Joka miss the opportunity to remove a midfielder or a defender and play 3 up front in the middle

  28. How stupid of me to forget all the dozens upon dozens of goals Vydra scored in the premier league

  29. The undeniable truth

The undeniable truth First Team Captain

They haven't proved they can score hatfuls of goals down the middle as a partner for TD if OI misfires. If OI was injured for 2 months I would be more confident with MV stepping in as an out and out striker than one of those guys who are more used to being the wide man. Just wish we'd had him to bring in second half of last season when we needed to change things upfront.

I think it'd be a mistake to leave him out, especially after last year. We'd only have two out and out strikers and how did that work out in the latter part of last season?

Can never understand why so many fans are so eager to slate Vydra, he was excellent for us the first season and pretty good the second. Rather than looking at the time he's actually played for us and the ability he's shown, some people would rather look at his time at West Brom and Reading as proof that he's not good enough for the Premier League.

  35. Not slating Matty

Just calling it stupid to suggest dropping Iggy (who has proven himself a 15+ goals prem league striker)

Matty fine as a back up until / if he proves he has 15+ goals a prem season in him
