It's been confirmed four Blackpool players have been disciplined by the club - after an alleged boozy incident in St Annes -where a caravan was trashed.

the club won't tell us which players are involved - but it happened - last month - just days before the Seasiders crucial game with Watford.

Chris and Gemma Hopwood, who own the caravan have told us the players smashed the windows, and rocked it from side to side, breaking the axle.

Gemma says she's particularly disappointed as she feels football players should be role models- and also says her and her family won't be going to any Blackpool games for a long time

the club has given us this statement:

We understand that the alleged incident took place on Monday 28th April. We were made aware of the incident the following day when Mr Hopgood contacted us and we were also made aware that the police were also involved in the allegations.

Manager Simon Grayson and Chairman Karl Oyston are aware of the allegations and the players involved have been disciplined in accordance with the club rules.

Those involved know that they have let themselves down as well as the club and as a club we do not condone such behaviour, as a club we pride ourselves on the work we do within the local community and in particular with young children, the players know they are in a responsible position and that they should be setting an example to everyone. ”

“Mr Hopgood has been aware that Blackpool FC cannot force any employee to make a payment against their wish nor can Blackpool FC be held responsible for the damage, the club have encouraged those individuals involved to pay damages and the club have offered to broker a deal between the two parties where the damages reflect an accurate amount of the damage done.”

Football players aren't known for their intelligence, they probably signed their names on the walls of the trashed caravan ;)
