Just a bit of 'yang' to the other thread's 'ying': Costco occasionally have a version of their Cuisinart brand waffle makers that has replaceable plates to become a sandwich toaster (the version I bought wasn't this one) so I found somewhere that sells the replacement plates and they arrived on Saturday morning. We've moved on from cheese toasties to breakfast ones (scrambled egg, bacon, blackpudding and/or lorne); pizza (red pesto, mozzarelli, ham, dried mushroom) and 'bantella' (banana and nutella).

An extremely underrated piece of kit that's producing some seriously underrated food.

Next task will be to work out how to do curry in 'naan' tosaties...

My god why haven't I thought of this?

My sandwich toaster makes the ideal fried egg sandwich.
Butter the outsides of the bread, push the lower slice into the hollows and crack an egg into it. Little dots of butter along the seams, top slice on and hey presto fried egg sarnie perfectly runny yolk and crispy toast. Beware of burnt lips as the yolk runs out.

hold vertically length ways, slit along the top (like a pitta) pour in curry of choice. Position in toaster sitting on it's hinge, may need to be chocked up with a couple of useless items, like some fruit.

    Coriander curry naan sandwich.

Jamie Meisters 3 min meals done.

The most under-rated food ? Molten mature cheddar cheese on toast with a splash of ketchup on top.

You were that kid who wanted a cone filled with 5 tiny scoops of ice cream flavours instead of one normal scoop, weren't you?

Plus a flake. And hundreds and thousands.

    And chocolate syrup.

    Oh, and raspberry syrup.

    I offer up lentils.

Been cooking some lentil based dishes recently and they're tasty and very filling. A client of my wife's gave her a pressure cooker lentil dish recipe (she's an eastern European immigrant, can't remember exactly where from) and it's simply outstanding. Can't get enough of it.

I just had a lentil soup for lunch - Greek style. Really simple to make and cheap (I make about 10 servings for about a fiver). Delish and filling.

I also like a chicken liver.

One of the best dishes I’ve had in a restaurant is whole chicken livers in raviolis with a butter and sage sauce.
