Thread title needs to be changed to Granada envy after Quina scored a humdinger and Foulquier assisted the winner for them tonight.

Udinese also won but did so without any of our ex players.

Extremely unlucky not to beat AC Milan last night, 1-0 up and the 5th and the final minute of injury time had just expired when an Udinese player committed a handball and have a pen away.

Are the likes of GD and Okaka injured?

    I presume so.
I haven't seen the line up for the Milan match but they didn't play against La Viola.

Can't even begin to imagine how unbothered and phone-ing it in he would have been in the Championship, in fairness, given how little he could ever even manage to rouse himself playing in the best/most exciting/most frenetic/etc (delete as appropriate) league in the world.

I'm envious of them having Gerri and Okaka, but Udinese must be a very boring team to support these days. The Italian version of Crystal Palace. Never go down, don't threaten the top 6 places and don't go anywhere in the cups...

Yep, relegation and losing to the likes of Barnsley and Huddersfield is infinitely preferable.

I've had this debate on here before, but I'd rather support a club that doesn't just sit in the lower half of the PL doing nothing if it means we have to play in the championship. We've only lost by a 2+ goal margin once this season. Last season it happened 12 times.

I would tend to agree with this if there was some kind of guarantee of promotion. A promotion season is infinitely more fun then coming 16th in the PL for the fiftieth time in a row.

I used to dislike Palace, but they've become such a non entity that I don't pay them a single thought. If they ceased to exist it would have absolutely no impact on English football as they do absolutely nothing.

So your ideal scenario is what, losing in the play offs every season? Baffling.

My ideal scenario is the club I support winning the first trophy in its entire history, and that's only happening with a Premier league squad.

Obviously i'd love to win a trophy. I loved our 5 years in the PL, but I don't want to be a Palace or a Newcastle who just sit around mid-table and don't even try in the cups for fear of being relegated. I know people will disagree, but just my opinion!

I started a thread on this about a year ago. Promotion seasons are the best, no question. The following seasons of just hoping to scrape 40 points are dreadful, many more losses than wins, weekends full of misery.
I have no idea what the best outcome is. May will be brilliant if we are promoted. Next season will be more exciting and enjoyable if we aren't. We will never qualify for Europe again or win a cup. Not being in the prem meant I could enjoy Fulham winning at Anfield yesterday rather than worrying about the consequences for my club getting pulled closer to the trapdoor. What's the effing point in following a club like watford ?

Perhaps we just have to wait until the European Super-Duper League is formed so that oil-rich states take their money out of our league and everything evens up a bit, like the good old days. Either that or we all support Man City.

Norwich may have cracked it, actually. Promotion seasons are wonderful. Slapping ***** teams silly every couple of weeks, winning 3 games in 7 days, going into every game knowing you've got a great chance of winning.

Go up, close our eyes for a season, get relegated, and repeat.

...but that's the issue. A brilliant season has to be followed by a cr*p season, or at best several dull/mediocre seasons...

Hence why I said close our eyes for a season. Go away, learn a language, pretend football doesn't exist, come back the day after our relegation is confirmed, and look forward to another season of fun!

Success with a goal and a couple of assists, Pussetto with two goals. Forestieri on as a sub. I know it's only a cup game against Serie B opposition but Italian club football really is *****.

Sounds like he’s making a late run for an AFCON call up.

If he could get that at the expense of Dennis, we’d finally have benefited from the lump of shyte.

Fair point, but while Gino is here I trust every Championship season to be good fun. Even in our worst year we came 13th and scored 74 goals (3rd most in the league).

Troy was obviously top scorer in 13/14 but can anyone name the rest of the top five scorers for that season without googling? If anyone gets all four first guess I'll eat my hat.
