It's quite embarrassing at this stage, but I can't help but read it and marvel at the ridiculous stupidity of it all.

A player who was ''practically useless'' yet was involved heavily in pretty much every goal we scored in those first few games. That he could even question Deeney in the second half of last season is hilarious, he was absolutely superb.

The fact that so much of zztop's criticism revolves around the money that Deeney earns says it all really. So, so bitter.

You say that Deeney "was involved heavily in pretty much every goal we scored in those first few games", yet he only helped Capoue score his first goal against Southampton and scored a penalty yesterday. So out of our 11 goals, he was heavily involved in only 2.

So you say Deeney was "absolutely superb" in the second half of last season.

But then you also thought that Jurado "was always our most effective and creative player going forward last season" - making him even better than "absolutely superb"! My, Jurado was that good?

I think we all know what your judgement is like J.B. ;D

Didn't he also score a rather decent equaliser against West Ham? Plus there is no denying he was about the only attacking player to come out of the second half of last season with any credit.

I'm not saying he is worth £100k but wages in football are ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous in fact and that's why it's best almost not to think of it

He set up Capoue against Southampton, he played a part in Capoue's goal against Chelsea through some great centre forward play, he set up Ighalo's goal vs Gillingham, he scored against West Ham and scored yesterday. So that's 5, 4 if I'm being stingy and taking out the Chelsea goal. Not bad even if you take out the two most recent games for a 'practically useless' player.

Well remembered re Jurado, you may not be able to remember a player scoring for your club yesterday but at least you're capable of remembering posts that I made well over a month ago. Jurado was our most effective and creative regular player going forward last season. That's not necessarily praise of Jurado or his performances, more a damning indictment of the style of football we played under the last head coach. Which regular player would you say was better going forward last season if not him? Because it's you and I know you get a bit confused sometimes I'll just make it perfectly clear that I'm obviously not including Deeney and Ighalo in that because they are strikers and I was referring to players going forward rather than those who are already forwards.

4 out of 11 is not "pretty much every goal"

I remembered he scored yesterday, I said he scored the penalty.

So, you don't want to include Deeney in your players "going forward", what tosh! Do you want to discount his "assists" because a forwards job is not to create goals?

Berghuis and Gueds each made more assists that Jurado and only got 3 starts between them. Jurado played almost every game and assisted once or twice! Besides, I rarely saw Jurado going forward as he was always running sideways or backwards!

The fact is, everyone knows that Deeney came back unfit and overweight. For some reason you think he can do no wrong or that he can be excused for his lack of professionalism and get upset with anyone that points out that he isn't perfect. He has taken some stick on social media and deserves it. But. he has worked hard over the international break to get fitter and is now doing the business. I am pleased.

Regarding his money, I really do not care how much he gets paid, but if a player is a professional on £100k a week, then I expect him to put some effort to earn it. He himself told us back in May that he was doing extra training to ensure he hit the ground running, in an interview with WDSports. It was plainly bull.

When I said he was involved in pretty much every goal I clearly said that I was referring to his first few games, a criteria which you set. It was you who started talking about the West Ham and Man Utd games, not me. Once you did I moved the conversation along and no longer referred to him being heavily involved in pretty much every goal. Have a little scroll up the page if you don't believe me and have a little  for yourself. As for remembering who scored for us yesterday, well done. When you can remember who scored last week without prompt I'll be even more impressed.

Deeney is a striker, of course I'm not going to include him as a player going forward. If I was then I'd obviously say he did better going forward than Jurado given that he scored 14 goals last season. I'd also say that Ighalo did better for the exact same reason. I don't think I'd get very far at all arguing that so I even if I wanted to I wouldn't even bother trying.

I said first team regular so I don't know why you're talking about Berghuis and Guedioura. My original point was that Jurado was our most creative and effective regular last season due to the usual omission of them and other attacking flair players! Again, because you clearly didn't understand the first, second, third or fourth time, that is not necessarily praise of Jurado.

Deeney started the season unfit. As did every other player in the squad. I didn't see them being singled out for heavy criticism and in some cases outright vitriol. Maybe if every single player in the squad is unfit the blame lies elsewhere?

As for his extra training over the summer to stay fit, take a look at his Twitter profile and the practically daily references and pictures of him being in the gym during May/June and tell me that it is 'plainly bull'.

All right, J.B. I give up. When in one post last month you tell us that Jurado was the most creative and effective player then, when it is pointed out you are wrong because other players created more, you cry foul because they (Gueds and Berghuis) played less. Also, when players going forward, dont include forwards, then I realise that I cannot compete with logic of such utter bollox.

You win J.B. I'll leave you to it.

    ;D

My original point was that Jurado was our most creative and effective regular player going forward because of a refusal by the head coach to give a proper chance to more creative and effective players. But then you know that and are now intentionally misrepresenting my point whilst ignoring other points you have made that I have debunked because you have nowhere else to go with your flimsy line of argument. You've even added a little smiley to top it all off - classic zztop.

If the problem was as bad as you suggest how was it so easily and magically fixed in a two week break? It just doesn't add up. Plus why pick him if he was so clearly 'unfit and overweight'? It's not like the new head coach owes him anything.

I agree his performances were not great. But the weight thing is a lazy excuse.

No, I'm sorry I've tried, even allowing for your upside logic where forwards do not "go forward", I just cannot work out what your second sentence means. I think you have lost it.

Give your Troy Deeney poster on the wall a kiss, get into bed and get some rest J.B. Tomorrow is another day.

I'm off to the gym and a pint.

I'm out of it UEA, I give in.

If you all like, Deeney came back fully fit, slim and fully prepared for the season.

    There.

I can't recall a time he's ever been slim though? If that was your expectation I can see why you're so upset with him.

Not really. He's started this season much better than last. If that's him 'unfit and overweight' then okay I guess.

He looked bigger than usual because of the unflattering new kit. I'm sure of it. We're just used to it now. D

But for whatever reason, he was absolutely rank those first few games.

But who gives a ****ing **** now?

    I think.

  26. He started the season looking overweight and off the pace

People took the p*** for a laugh

He's sorted himself out and is back to the Deeney we know and adore, in fact I think he's even better than the 2015/16 model

Don't see what the fuss is about

  27. It must be a surprise to everyone when Watford fans get emotional about the club they are passionate about.

For the record, I think all our players can be ****** ********, but I love them just like my ****** ******** kids, in fact more, because I don't have to lend them money or give them a lift anywhere.

Isn't it wonderful that a striker quite literally carries his positive momentum through to the next game? He's trying not to bless him, but without his gravitational pull, Jon Brownlee would never have finished. Those KFC buckets have their benefits.
