Especially if he has to hang around in more petrol stations when he goes.

I was born and bred in Watford and will ALWAYS support my beloved 'Orns however, I've lived in Leicestershire for many years and can say hand on heart, as a place to live, Leicester is far superior to Watford. We have fresh air up here for starters and lots of petrol stations.

My concern is that Okaka is not good enough. Some of our players are better than they showed last season and I trust Silva to prove that with a better style of football. But some of them are not and I include Okaka in this.

We have got ourselves into a bit of a sticky situation because assuming Deeney stays, I still think we need 2 more strikers. Persuading 1 shouldn't be too hard as they can see that they will get chances and could play in a 2-up-top even. But buying 2 strikers and convincing them they will both get chances will be both difficult and expensive.

On that basis I expect Okaka to stay as 3rd choice.

Deeney will definitely stay. He disliked Mazzarri so much that now he's gone there is no chance of him leaving.

 

Hernandez just signing for wet spam. Great goal scoring record. Why were we not even linked to him ? His goals will keep them out of trouble next season.

 

Because they're paying him £140,000 a week. We are living in a time now where goalscorers can ask for whatever they want and more than likely someone, somewhere, will give it to them. We seem to be a fishing in a different pond at the moment.

Very true. For example Dayrl Murphy has got a three year contract at Florist. Not bad for 34 yr old.
They can have the little Mexican for stupid money a week. It's no guarantee he will be successful there.

 

Because it's £16 mill transfer fee, and £7.3 mill a year on wages and god knows what else.

 

To be fair, we are fishing in the Hernandez pool. But the one where we look for his talent level at the price Man Utd paid for him.

And more importantly it will cause unrest in the squad if one player is earning substantialy more than all the others. If, as has been previously been suggested, Deeney is guaranteed under his contract to be the highest earner, then we would have to increase his wages to over £7.3m.

 

Well as long as we find and sign them and they hit the ground running then great but we won't stay up with the firepower we have and buying another Bargain basement Okaka or a 16 year old potential future wonderkid won't help keep us up this season.

Just posted a picture of him on social media lying in a hospital bed with the caption 'off we go' with a displeased emoji. So looks like he's been kept in U.K. for that minor op or is having a second procedure.

So perhaps not on the move. But also likely won't be training or playing any time soon and certainly won't be up to speed for the start of the season I should imagine. The need for new strikers gets even deeper...
