Has ended up choosing Fiorentina instead. https://twitter.com/ed_aarons/statu...^1406310657398558734|twgr^|twcon^s1_&ref_url= Slightly disappointed actually as there's a decent chance he could have been a big waste of money for Brighton.
Norwich interesting in Berghuis to replace Buendia according to SSN. Fee could be between €4m and €5m which seems very very low given his form since leaving us!
Turning 30 this year and only one year left on his contract but yes still cheap. Some Norwich sources say it won’t be happening though - https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/ncfc-not-pursuing-holland-winger-linked-as-target-8075316
Good window so far: My opinion. Rose - Free and improves us Fletcher - Free, believing the best Louza - £8.6mil, makes us better Dennis - £3.4 mil, makes us better Baah - £125k, makes us better for the future Pollock - £100k, makes us better for the future So far we have spent a grand total of £12.25mil, if reported fees are to be believed. Bearing in mind that those fees won’t be paid upfront in one lump sum either, it’s probably more like £5-7mil, with the rest in installments. Hardly breaking the bank, but 6 players that improve us now and in the future. We must sign that LW and CM though. Get those two done before pre-season and we will be in a very strong position.
With the exception of Louza I am not sure we have improved our starting 11 yet. There is some business here that probably improves the squad and has us in a better place moving forwards (provided we can ship out the dross) but unless we add quality at LW / striker / centre mid (if Chalo is going?) then it is all a bit meaningless.
Narrch probably backing themselves to turn a talented player's career around, a bit like us with Dennis
Personally I think Gilmour would be better off staying at Chelsea I think he’s good enough to get in their team rotation with Jorginho. Either that or joins us for a season Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've just watched Dike score a very decently technically proficient goal for Orlando back in good ol' MLS, which involved running on to a through ball, taking it round the keeper with a measured touch and finishing from a somewhat tightening angle as a defender threatened to get in the way. Looked more promising than any other goal I've seen him score, in terms of what he might be capable of, at least...
On a sidenote, the amount of MLS games that experience some kind of weather delay either to their kick-off time or even, as right this moment, midway through the game, is phucking insane.
He scored a very nice goal for the USA a few weeks back too. But when I saw him at Barnsley he could be excellent one game then virtually nonexistence the next. But there is definitely a player in there.
I am certainly dubious about him given his seeming reliance on physicality, relatively low-pedigree background, success in a system nothing like the one we would be playing and that is somewhat orc-ish, and that ability to completely go missing for games, for sure. But a goal like the one I saw last night and the one you mention from the national team do make me start to wonder if that inconsistency might be more down to age and paucity of higher level experience slightly more than any other one thing. Only a slight wonder, of course...
Can't have had much of a break if he's gone from playing for Barnsley from January to the end of May, and then now back to the US
No, but in fairness Orlando's 2020 MLS season ended on November 29th, and he didn't sign for Barnsley until February 1st, so he had a very nice Christmas beforehand.
Won't be cheap, and it seems his favourite positions in the team are the same as Sarr. If we have to sell Sarr in a year he could be a decent replacement though, he did look class. Andras Schafer was the only one in that Hungary team who looked decent and would be sensible and obtainable - he's currently only playing in the Slovakian league. Not quite as much quality as Sallai, but still composed on the ball, runs his socks off and is only 22. Not sure he'd be ready to start in the Prem, but could be a good bargain squad option if we need to replace Chalobah (though we'd also still need another top class defensive midfield destroyer regardless of who else comes in or leaves).
Watford Football Club on Twitter: " June 24th isn't a bad #OnThisDay for Hornets signings... 2014 2017 https://t.co/gXN3Gb0wjd" / Twitter A tease? Something happening today?
Yes definitely, I already mentioned him in Euro discussion thread, but sadly he is too expensive probably. Would be a great option for lw.
I'd prefer this over a signing. Swap Success for a barrel of Side Pocket. Not sure how useful Isaac would be at Tring Brewery though.
