It seems done for Jadson. Multiple sources saying he's already in Italy for the medicals and the (pre?)contract and he'll be at Udinese in July.

Also, regarding the new ones, last Sunday Naldo (bought by Granada and on loan to Bologna as we're already full with extra-EU players) had his debut in serie A entering at HT in Inter-Bologna (0-1) and was widely seen as an excellent debut, very physical and precise in timing in defence and with good passing qualities.

    Good news, I'd say.

I've read it but don't think really believable.
It is true that there are many rumours about Juve and Napoli interested in Muriel for next summer, but if the lad (or at least his agent) has any sense, I don't think there's much ground.
Muriel has obviously a lot of talent but still a lot to improve in head/concentration/tactics/courage. If he improves in these and he playes great next season with Udinese and confirms with a good playing in World Cup, then he can choose ANY big European team and can ask ANY wage. Di Natale is probably quitting this summer so Muriel will be our first and main striker and Udinese would be the best environment for him to grow and the best "shopping window" for him.
Also I don't see Pozzo selling Muriel for, say, 12 M€ next summer when the lad could be valued at worst 10 (if he fails to improve) and at best 30 or more (if he becomes really great) the year after and is very precious for Udinese's next season.

Sherlock is there any mileage in the rumour of Badu to Juventus!! I really fancied him at Watford because of Jadson going to Udinese!!

  11. sherlock

    sherlock Tippytappy footy expert

    No idea willia.
But if I must guess, I'd say that too is a rumour with no much ground. Badu is still very young and hasn't shown really much at Udinese (maybe playing out of his "natural" role), while he has done great with Ghana.
Selling him to juventus now seems to be a "discount sale" of a player who can still show more. Not very "Pozzesque".

It's too early to say anything, as Guidolin too probably will quit this summer, so it will depend on who will be next Udinese's manager and his module and the players he'll want, but it's true that it seems we have an overload of midfielders and Badu might be a candidate to go out, but I still think more likey that he'll go to Watford rather than sold at not-yet-full-price, especially if WFC goes up. I think he might be really good in Premier and under Zola.

When I read the article, it seemed early to sell Badu. He's also been reported as wanting to play in prem. I'd really like him here. I think he is exactly what we need.

Saw a Udinese fan say Muriel would probably leave and that Vydra would return and thought it was rubbish, totally anti-Pozzos. Muriel definitely needs another season with you, to add value and grow as a player.

I've heard today that udinese will sell Pawlowski, Muriel, Isla, benatia and badu, to make 30 - 40 million. Do you think this is right Sherlock, seems totally against Pozzo way to me. But maybe I'm wrong.

  15. sherlock

    sherlock Tippytappy footy expert

Seems like a mix of many things.
Isla was sold already last summer to Juventus (9.4 M€ for 50% and agreement for Juventus to buy the remaining 50% later at same price).
Benatia is very likely to be sold next summer. His substitute Heurtaux is already in team and played a lot already.
Pawlowski, no way! Never seen Pozzo selling a 19 YO bought the year before.
Badu, possible but unlikely as I said in previous post.
Muriel, unlikely as quite necessary for next season. Unless of course a really crazy offer comes from a sheik that allows us to buy, with that money, 6 of the best strikers from last Southamerican U20 and last Africa Cup hoping that at least 1 or 2 will be good.

Anyway, the simple fact that the "rumour" says that we'll sell Isla, who really was already sold, says a lot about its credibility.

Does this mean you are getting €18.8m euros for Isla in total then? Thats pretty good

  17. sherlock

    sherlock Tippytappy footy expert

That's incredibly good, considering that he quite failed his season at Juventus and I think they won't be happy to pay the remaining 50% at the price agreed.
Still possible that the 2 teams will find some other agreement. This is just fantasy but ... Quagliarella, former Udinese striker later sold to Napoli and then arrived to Juventus, is quite good but doesn't play much in Juve (a lot of other strikers).
With Di Natale probably quitting next summer, I can imagine Pozzo saying to Agnelli "OK, I understand Isla was not as good as you expected so I'll give you a discount on the price agreed, if you do a good price for Quagliarella that might be useful to us.

What about Asamoah, do they have to pay 50% for him still?

  19. sherlock

    sherlock Tippytappy footy expert

Yes, Asamoah was 9M€ for 50% with agreement for later the other 50% at same price.
For him they'll be happy to pay the remaining sum as he was very good this year.

Di Natale quitting. Does that mean he is finished playing or going elsewhere? Vydra would seem a natural choice. Would be interesting to see who gets him if we go up?

Isla was never going to get in above Lichsteiner at RWB, what were they thinking paying €18.8m for a back-up?!

No knight, Di Natale will stop play, not moving to another team...if he really quits this summer. He always said he doesn't want to play in other teams than Udinese (in the past years he refused Juventus, Milan and who knows what else) because he wants become Udinese's coach of young teams. About Isla, i think Juventus didn't expect Lichtsteiner would play so good, that's why they got Isla, even if Isla can play also in half-centre position, but i think he never did bad in the few games he played.

Quintero did impress with the u20's more so than others favoured at that tournament. He has a top class youth coaching for him at national level in Pekerman. It was Bolivia it has to be said who rested several players for their home clash with Argentina tomorrow night. That said I am surprised but will be pleased if Udinese are the only side who come in for him. Internazionale are set to undergo a radical rebuild this summer so who knows.

Moratti is keen on the player.

Sherlock, we need 2 goalkeepers, 2 ball playing central defenders who can play in a back three, a creative midfielder, a battling, ball winning midfielder, who can also pass, a RWB a LWB and at least 2 of those players need to be good at dead balls.

Do you think these are all on the cards?

Waiting for the Hull match, a few updates on latest news and rumours from Udine.

Portoguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes, 18 YO (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/bruno-fernandes/profil/spieler_240306.html), has been lately in the first 11 in Novara (serie B) and playing very well. According to the "Gazzetta dello Sport" Udinese has almost fixed the details for his transfer (apparently 50% for 2.5M€ with the option for buying full later).
This seems quite believable as our sporting director Larini admitted they are in contact and hope to fix details ASAP. Given that usually, at Udinese, rumours are commented almost always only after contract is signed, this seems a good omen.

According to http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/udinese/ Udinese is interested in 2 players that recently played the African U20 final, the Egyptian Saleh Gomaa '93 (difficult as quite searched so price might be too high now) and the Ghanaian Ebenezer Assifuah '93. Also playing in that final was Clifford Aboagye '95 (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/clifford-aboagye/profil/spieler_262554.html) who, and this is a surprise to me, apparently is already ours!

About Ghanaians, Emmanuel Badu at Udinese (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/emmanuel-badu/profil/spieler_108484.html) has contract expiring next summer. I asked in Udinese fans forum if this should be worrying. The lad was not exceptional (except a few matches) with us but was often absolutely great with Ghana (playing in his natural position). He's just 22YO so has a lot yet to show, it would be a pity to see him go as free agent.
But answer was that there should be nothing to worry about as the lad's agent Claudio Vagheggi is strictly linked with Udinese.
Now I wonder: Badu is considered in several rumours as a likely candidate for a move to Watford, as he could be good with English football and is not playing much with us (and often as said not in natural position). Maybe they're simply letting the contract expire so that he can sign with WFC as free agent and none (FL?) can say anything about too low transfer fee?

Again according to tuttomercatoweb, Udinese and PSV both have made an offer for Peruvian Yordy Reyna (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/yordy-reyna/profil/spieler_200779.html), midfielder who can play also as striker and seems good in goals scored (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yordy_Reyna) for a midfielder. Oh, and Lazio asked Perugia (playing in third italian league) about the Brazilian Fabinho (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/fabinho/profil/spieler_163058.html) but answer was "You must talk with Udinese, as he's theirs and here on loan" :naughty:

I doubt they'd do that. It's too risky - there'd be nothing to stop another club signing him for free!

Sherlok i really really want BADU at WAtford, i think he would be a great acquisition for us, and would be exactly what we need, i see that there are other Prem teams linked with him, it would make perfect sense for him to come here (shop window), adn then be sold for big money.

Isn't he a similar player to Chalobah? Would be a good replacement if we are unable to get Chalobah next season.

Today Udine's newspaper reported that Pozzo already refused an offer of 13mln of euro from Chelsea for Vydra, because he wants not less than 20 mln. But here in udine Udinese staff would like to see him play with Di Nataleand Muriel next season. Same story for Muriel, Udinese wants him to stay one seson more but seems that many clubs are looking for him already

So, from Udinese's fan forum it seems it's done for Bruno Fernandes. He was at Udine for the medicals and later watched the match Udinese-Chievo.
Excellent news! He seems really a promising very young attacking midfielder. Playing in serie B at Novara, you can get the idea of his quick growth this year seeing http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/bruno-fernandes/leistungsdaten/spieler_240306.html and seeing the goal he scored last saturday in the match against the leader Sassuolo, at 0:30 in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jrfb6-unx5w

Would it be likely he would join Granada or Watford on loan initially, in your opinion?

  35. sherlock

Anyway, today Udinese officially denied that he had the medicals. Maybe true, maybe just "diplomacy" because the Italian Football League might not be happy about these sort of "pre-contracts" outside the transfer window. So right now still only a rumour, although a strong one.

About his destination if rumour true: no way to know really. Rumour is about buying 50% for 2M€ but maybe with him staying at Novara, or being loaned to them. Yet I think Guidolin and Udinese prefer to train directly the most promising ones, at least for a while. Also it will depend if Novara is promoted, or Granada relegated, of WFC promoted.
I'd say that being an EU player with already some experience in Italy he might be more likely Udinese-bound.
