Where did you read Stefano? Because that was just one of the wild numours in last transfer day, but as far as I know Soma Novothny is fully owned by Napoli and they denied the rumour. I'd like to discover that he's 50% ours, as he seems very promising.

Hello, i see that this topic is quiete dead in these days, maybe my last posts upset sherlock? XD no seriously, about novothny maybe they meant for the next summer. Anyway i am writing here today to ask why so many people around this forum don't like this policy of the owners to get many players on loan from another team, whay loans are so bad considered in england? or is just few peoaple thinking in that way?
It's a new concept in England Stefano, Watford fans are just about used to it now, but it'll take a long while for other clubs to, especially whilst we're being successful.
Hi Stefano, I think the people on this forum are mostly in favour of the Pozzo policy. We've benefited hugely from the influx of talented players such as Abdi and Vydra. However, it's other clubs who's fans and managers are complaining, as they see that we're somehow exploiting an unfair rule, as we can loan as many players as we like from Udinese or Granada, but the rules within the England restrict clubs to only loaning a maximum of 2 players from another English club, and can use a maximum of 5 players loaned from other English clubs in their matchday squad (including substitutes). I think that people see it rather simplistically, as they don't fully understand the Pozzo's business model and method of scouting players. People have never seen this system before and clubs like Watford have only ever been successful if a rich person buys the club and throws hundreds of millions of pounds at the club. Overall, we shouldn't care what other people think, as they are only interested in their own club's health, not ours.
Oh now i see, i didn't know about those rules in england, so now is all clear. So is a new concept. now i understand why people think in that way, thanks for explain guys
I guess the answer is just any food is served XD i don't think there is an italian stadium with a restaurant inside, they are not multifunctionals, just a field and seats. Maybe Juventus one now has it, and udinese new one will have it. All i can see for now are dishes of fruit or of ham and cheese that waiters bring up to Pozzo when udinese plays at meal times
That Merkel lad that Udinese signed in January just reached 86 on my fifa career. We'll take him for the Premier League next season of thats ok with you Sherlock! I do remember seeing him play last year and thought he would cope well with the EPL style of football.
Merkel had impressed me when I saw him playing in Milan, then he had some injury problems at Genoa I think. He played 2 matches with Udinese so far, without impressing much, I must say. But he's still very young (born in '92) so hopefully he can improve. Maybe at Udinese, maybe at Watford. Who knows. Certainly the nice thing is that if, hopefully, WFC is promoted already this year, this time the Pozzo's will have a full summer instead of just a few frantic days, to plan and prepare the teams for next season.

That may well be possible. In Italy there's a limit to the number of extra-EU players that can be signed (although with quite baroque and complex rules). In England, if I understood correctly, there's no limit except that the player, to obtain the VISA, must be of good level (called for his age national team in last 2 years and from a nation that is not "3rd world" in football terms is OK if I got it right). Thus Watford could easily become the destination for several good young southamerican players seen in last U20 but not yet overpriced/overhyped that Udinese's scouting network can grab before other teams.

True, but in Spain too there's a limit of max 3 extra-EU in team. So even if they can have Spanish passport in 2 years (1 if they have a Spanish parent or grandparent, AFAIK), sometimes the scouts might find out more good talents that can be accomodated in Spain.
Good point, how many non-EU slots do Granada have taken up at the moment? On a related note, isn't there situations where clubs have used other clubs in Italy as vehicles to sign non-EU players and keep them for a period of time until a space in their own squad becomes available? I'm sure Milan did it but can't think who with (club or player)
Nope, as long as they have work permits you can have as many non-EU players in your squad as you want.
