There's a section on both 'new posts' and 'today's posts' that tells you what forum a thread is from so my point still stands, if it comes from a forum called "player/transfer info" it clearly isn't going to be general chat or WFC chat as there's no such forum for them called "player/transfer info" is there.

What you've just posted Afanof is probably the biggest display of laziness i've ever seen, the forum title section isn't on a different f**king page is it, the movement of your eyes slightly to the right isn't bloody difficult, i can't believe you're getting so het up over such a trivial issue. It's pathetic. Get a hobby or something.

Without meaning to be rude to anyone. But it's all the old people piping up about this "problem".

I'm not getting het up Chewitt. I asked a question to see if anyone else did the same as I do i.e. click on a thread thinking it's about the real world and finding it's not. And it seems they do. I have suggested a solution which obviously isn't acceptable so I will go back to reading the separate forums and then I can be sure of what I'm getting.

In all honestly does this "Todays posts" help people much? I usually just search individual forums and the ones that come up in bold are where there are posts you haven't viewed.

No but I clicked on it and it still doesn't see hard to avoid. Have used it today for the first time and really cannot see what you're making a fuss about?

VOR. I had already read that post, however putting FM infront of the Player transfers, Tactics & Training etc still involves the individual to look a mere 30cm across there screen to see what section it's in which by the sounds of it is to much for certain people to do anyway.

this has got to be the worlds most pointless argument!

i only ever use the todays post button because its quicker for me to find things ive not read or contributed to and always check to see what section things are in because to be honest somethings are of no interest to me

for example i rarely check in on tranfer rumours unless theres nothing else to be read and i specifically look for fm threads as its a game i enjoy and its nice to chat to others about it, gives tips and read about peoples exploits

im sure that there are many things afanof that you are enjoy that people on here dont but it is a forum and thus unless people are spamming or being abusive i dont see a problem with people posting whatever they like within reason.

if you dont like it dont read it! simple as.

If I don't like it I don't want to read it.

Yours has got to be the world's most pointless post. Have you read all of the discussion or just skimmed a bit and decided you know what it's all about?

The Football Manager forum's are The_Hornet's baby. Best bet for suggesting name changes/amalgamation is to put it directly to him.

TVOR - Unfortunately I don't think there is a way within the current software to filter out/ignore posts in certain forums. Would be a useful feature though!

Or he and afanof can move their eyes an inch or two across the screen  I mean that's all we're talking about here, literally some people being too lazy to use their eyes.

No need for name changes or amalgamation, just make it clear in the thread title. But clearly that is beyond the pale for some people.

To be honest Chewitt they have a point - and in the perfect world we'd cater for everyone. But as it is we have to make do with the software as it stands. I'm sure we can work out something that suits everyone.

Just a general point though, not aimed at Chewitt specifically or with anyone particular in mind, can we try and keep this thread amicable? If it becomes a slanging match I can see it being closed. Ta.

Wow, a simple request and 3 pages of replies. Right, time for my input.

Like Afanof, I've clicked some of the FM threads without diverting my eyes to the right and realising what forum it is. It's not being lazy, it's just habit, I'm as guilty as Afanof in that respect. Some of the reaction to the first post is quite franky shocking, why on earth are some of you so d4mn rude? See that "Today's football posts" link in the navbar above? Well that was created after a similar request from Jobr, and I don't remember any of you being as vocal to him for asking, quite the opposite!

It's all about compromise. If someone's not happy about something on the forum then the mods and me will usually have a chat and come up with the best way to move forward. What people don't realise is that some things we change means learning how to manipulate some forum software in a way we haven't tried before, and that makes all of us better at running this place.

There is a feature in the newer software that allows threads to be "tagged", so you know what the content is, IE "Not Safe For Work" could precede any thread with dodgy workplace content. I'm wondering if there's a way we could stamp FM threads with a simple FM leader, (as suggested already in this thread). There is also the possibility to ignore all FM threads in "today's posts", (again suggested), or even to create a new link which will do that from the "quick links" drop down etc.

So we'll have a chat and see what we can come up with, (could also come up with "no action"), but the one thing I don't want to come out of this is for people to be too afraid of reactions of others to ask for changes :dismay:

yes i have read all of the discussion and correct me if im wrong but your problem seems to be that you dont want to look slightly to the right and read what section the post is in? which is frankly absurd just look to the right its easy to recognise whats fm i know because its the stuff that i look for on todays posts

  21. Cude>2<

Do you not think that'll annoy the mods when people forget? In fact it'll probably annoy them as much as it annoys you when you don't look what section its in.

Tell you what, thread suspended until we've had a chance to come up with any idea and feed it back to you.
