Newspaper in Lille reporting that the defensive midfielder will be leaving and us & West Ham are interested. Was an unused sub against Leicester on Saturday, with Lille wanting around £18m for him. http://www.lavoixdunord.fr/428065/article/2018-08-06/mercato-les-anglais-vont-ils-debarquer-lille
Considering we're threadbare in that position it really isn't. Any player who improves the team and squad is more than welcome.
If we're to believe they are nearing fitness, then we have a midfield 3 of Doucoure, Chalobah and Capoue. I wouldn't say no to a backup player, but the idea we're looking to splash the cash in the position we need it least is baffling.
But at the present we have Capoue. If fit they will be way off the pace so far. You can't open a season with hopes of players being fit
Just seems like a waste to me. Rather they got somebody on loan to cover until they're all fit, and consider spending £18m on a centre half
Opening bid has to be at £10k to achieve £35k leaving them feeling they have more than tripled their money.
We will NEVER EVER spend 18 million or even 10 million on a CB (I think you mean?). It is not the Pozzo way. Do you really want Mawson or would you not rather have an up and coming Wilmot?
Another midfielder based in France that we are likely to be interested in, and were in January, Zambo Anguissa. Has had positive reports from scouts of Premier League clubs in recent months, and L'Equipe reckon some of those clubs will make late offers for him. http://www.football.fr/transferts/a...mbo-anguissa-suivi-en-premier-league-1064908/
He's another one who'd cost about £20million - a regular for a Marseille side who qualified for the Europa League, 22 and with a contract until 2021. He's been linked with quite a few clubs recently, including Chelsea and Sporting.
