It’s not clear from Pearson’s quotes if Janmaat is unavailable for the rest of the season or just the Leicester game.
Appears he’s out of contention for the remaining games of this season: http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-m...-comments-bad-luck-injury-coronavirus-return/
Genius idea to give a three year contract extension to Mr Glass Janmaat. Good player but never fit. Success on the other hand, is just absolute droppings. It's actually a boost that he's out for the season as there won't be any temptation to put him on the bench ahead of someone like Pedro or Quinoa.
Success scores the odd goal in a cup game. He was pretty raw when we first had him at the club and looked special. I just hope Pedro doesn't end up the same sort of playet, especially after all the hype.
Ruptured Achilles too. Potentially robbing him of his pace, which beside being an absolute unit, was near enough his only redeeming feature as a player.
His former manager who said Success should move will be disappointed. Does Janmaat have a chronic knee injury? - always seems to get a long term one each season. We do seem to have a habit of having players who suffer them struggling to comeback. Hopefully GD doesn't suffer the same !
That is probably more to do with our old crap medical team (before it was upgraded). Foster breaks a nail under the old team, your looking at four to five months.
I'm amazed DJ has made it though the CV19 pandemic so far. Presumably he's being shielded in a safehouse on a remote island ?
I don't think we are massively unique in having a few players who seem to be injured more than not. We are one of those clubs though that take on players with some kind of reason why they haven't been taken elsewhere, or to reduce the amount we have to pay them etc. Players with a history of injures are no doubt easier to buy and sign and are cheaper. Janmaat is a good player - and we probably keep him, on relatively low wages based on his ability, because of his injury record. Could be wrong though.
At first I thought the OP was predicting an unlikely duo that would save us in repeating a glorious Hogg-Deeney type goal.
Not having Janmaat as a rotation option is a shame. On the rare occasions when fit he's streets ahead of, say, Pussetto. Our squad really is looking threadbare for the run-in.
Final line of the translated interview in this article is brilliant. Daryl couldn't give a ****, he didn't even know if the season was going to carry on or not, and now he needs to go and do his shopping. Still at least he's targeted one more season on the big Premier League bucks before he heads home...
