Don't get me wrong - I too would be very happy with 41 points if offered now. I am just saying there is not much margin for error in such a low prediction 34 games out. My point was not that I think 41 points will get us relegated but that "it is dangerously close".
How many teams have been relegated on 38 points? Unless we get something from the next three games the 1.18 PPG over 31 not 34 games takes us to 38.
That is why I think action now was required.

I may be mistaken, but I got the feeling that the first-team players did not play as many games pre-season as normal. No early games against rough-and-tumble, let'em'ave-it type teams, no matter how low their rankings. It seemed it had been decided to focus on "better quality" teams, but less of them. That would go a long way to explaining why in the BHA game we played as if it was another pre-season match, whilst they were champing at the bit & fully ready.
