Don't want to 'like' it as it's just a horrible story and shame on that rag for thinking it was in the public interest. It's a personal and private matter that would have taken years to come to terms with. I know from personal experience how long it takes to make peace with a parent's suicide and to have it dredged up by a national paper would be extremely painful.
The thing I find most despicable is that this isn’t a story that you just stumble over. I can only imagine that ever since the WC Final/Headingley, The S*n have had a journo working day and night to uncover something to undermine the current success of the individual in question. Absolutely disgusting and not at all in the interest of the public. But no doubt the rag in question will hide behind Free Press and freedom of speech. It’s really disgusting that there is no urgent matter for recourse on such matters. We will probably hear Stokes has won damages in a few years time and The S*n will run a tiny apology that no one sees. Disgraceful. Almost certain that they will run a further piece about the story now. These papers never take criticism lying down and tend to go for more blood.

Should also include The Mirror and The Daily Star in the roll call of shame. Apparently they ran the story online last night but, presumably after realising the resulting outcry, have now removed it from their sites and are instead focusing on the Stokes reaction.
The Sun are also running something called Swedes 2 Turnips 1, which is a special podcast or something (wasnt listening that much) look back at how much of a w**k*r their reporters have been over the years. I think thats what its about anyway, it can't just be the title of their new podcast because that would mean they're utter pricks.
Seems Ben Stokes isn’t the only recent victim of having their parents chased for headlines... Gareth Thomas (ex Wales Rugby player) who announced he had HIV a few days back, revealed this morning that he was forced into announcing it because The S*n had got hold of his diagnosis and seen it upon themselves to knock on his parents door to ask them their feelings about it - Gareth Thomas hadn’t yet told his parents of his illness. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
How do they keep selling papers? Genuine question from somebody who’s lived abroad for the last 9 years.
That and the temptation to see photos of celebrities with their bits hanging out is too strong for a lot of them.

Incidently today's bit in Private Eye manages to fully describe this without mentioning once it was the S*n/S*n on S*nday that was responsible for the blackmailing giving Thomas the chance to tell his side of the story. I sense legal threats...
