Nah, they really weren't the same. VVD was maybe a tad over-exuberant, but it was effectively shoulder to shoulder and over a ball that was there to be won, it was not a foul (and not a push in the back from the wrong side of the ball).

 

Didn't VVD push him when he was already going over?

 

Sodonkey looks as if he might have dislocated Billing's hip as well.

Number 9 at the soon to be champions, free scoring Liverpool. Yet has not scored at home all season. Thats actually nuts. Played 15 (started 14) no goals.

 

More VAR nonsense in the Manchester derby today. Foul on Fred was missed by the ref, who booked him for a dive. The VAR replays showed he was fouled but didn’t change the decision for some reason. Surely they can get the card overturned.
Now there’s been a toenail offside decision against Aguero which wasn’t shown as offside on the VAR replay and yet wasn’t given as a goal. Just get rid of it.

It was an armpit offside in the end. Could see from the lines drawn it was offside but there was no explanation for the tv viewers, let alone folk actually at the match.

And yellow cards can’t be overturned either by VAR or after a match.

 

I’m baffled. The line shown was at the toes of the two players and they were dead level, so onside. If it was an armpit offside and they can’t even transmit that to the TV audience, let alone those in the stadium, what is the point? Only the officials knew - is it for their benefit, then?

 

They did the feet first and then went on to draw a line from Aguero’s armpit. You could see them doing it. See below. The line across the pitch for that showed Aguero was ahead (the black line being where his armpit allegedly was, tracked from the red dashed line).



That was shown on tv but Martin Tyler didn’t comment on it. He seemed to have convinced himself a goal was going to be awarded instead.

 

Vardy hasn't turned up... well, he's just on the bench,

 

Bloody typical isn't it. Resting to ensure he's fit to get a hat trick on the break vs us. Leicester are nothing without Vardy.

Good to see Leicester coming back into form now.....Although that being said this is painful for Villa’s GD.

 

Was thinking the same. Great result for us but they look really dangerous with so much pace on the break.

 

Leicester open the floodgates. Hopefully so much so that they're back into drought by Saturday.

 

Grealish looked absolutely shattered - fewest touches of any outfield player.

Villa were terrible after the first 10 minutes, they almost gifted Leicester a few goals before they'd even scored their first.

Leicester's finishing was actually incredibly wasteful before they went 2-0 up and the first 2 goals were just handed to them - the 2nd was never a penalty (it was no more of a handball than the ones VAR let slide when Schar and Alli scored against us).

 

Better Villa got a thrashing and Foxes have a boost than Villa get the three points.
Not ideal but we have few options in our predicament.
