I've had said this before, Chalobah is finished at this level. His career is over and he knows it.
He is just treading water right now.
Time is up Chalobah, retire now, take your PFA pension and enjoy life.

That would make us a laughing stock but better that than carrying on as we are. I have said before I think there is a problem in the dressing room and something has caused some kind of split.

May sound crazy but, assuming he has necessary badges, I'd seriously consider trying to prise Jay DeMerit out of Vancouver. He would certainly deal with attitude problems.

Had a bad game tonight, but in his defence was in a team with fringe players against a good Gomes and Delph. He done a job against spuds and with more minutes after a career threatening injury will become the player we need.

You may have something here, Ron.

When things are going great it can appear there's unity - but when you haven't had a decent league win since March (over the Foxes) then dressing room "issues" arise.

QSF had a rumoured reputation for being lax, allowing Deeney to skip training for instance, which then lead to a bad cop following him as Head Coach to whip the dressing room back into shape and order.

The Deeney/Capoue/Holebas core axis didn't like Mazzari and worked to undermine him so we then had another "good cop" come along in the shape of Gracia, who again seemed to fall eventually into poor results from being a bit too nice and appearing a bit of a pushover.

Is that why the squad started this season plainly unfit and has had more strains than a constipated battalion?

Why oh why we followed a failing good cop with another previously failed "good cop" is baffling when I cannot name one player who QSF improved and added value to in his first era? Not just cos he had a decent song, surely?

Adding value to Pozzo signings would seem to be the first quality that the current Watford board would want.

But QSF bombed out the gritty multi title winning Layun (with a huge social media following), Holebas and other Pozzo signings and became the first Pozzo manager allowed to influence signings yet two of his biggest, Jurado and Mario Suarez proved to be too lazy or slow for the Premier League. And so he got replaced. Don't they remember all this?

    I don't see it.
He is not the player of before at all. Watch him closely, watch his movement. He knows his time is up.
He was one for the future, but the injury has changed him . He now just makes up the numbers.
    It is over for him.

I think get him minutes this season and he will be at least a decent option in the Championship next season. Got to be looking ahead now.

Physically and mentally broken. What a waste of wages it's been.

Was it under Quiche that we had a terrible "injury and recovery" problem a couple of years ago? That had gone away until recently. Might be a coincidence but are players reluctant to play again now - or does the training or lack of it cause a problem for them?

    To keep the score down.
A 2-0 away defeat at mighty Everton is a great result and once again QSF qualifies for his "concede no more than 2" bonus plan. It's as good as a win when you think about it.

I enjoyed that season. We had no chance from the off, we were outmatched in every department in every game, but we did our best and we supported the team for doing so.

This season we have gutless players who are failing to do even the basics and they don't deserve our support. Few, if any of this lot will live into the memory. They are just passing through, waiting for a better offer and screwing our club in the process.

    Indeed.
I watched him at Southampton away. He moved so slow and got rid of the ball as if it was a bomb at his feet. He looked sh*t scared the whole game.
It is not going to happen for him. The club and the player must realise this. The sooner the better.

I've been trying to remain optimistic but last night he was appalling. Oddly though, it seems a mental, rather than physical issue. He just seems to think far too slowly and causes danger by losing the ball in areas where he had time and options to release.

A slight over reaction to a game that QSF admitted, if you read between the lines, that he didn't care about. Normally that really annoys me as we've never won anything of note but this season we really do need to concentrate on the league and I felt that showed last night.
It's not great for the fans that went but we made eight changes from Saturday and Everton's side looked far stronger than ours so the result is not a surprise.
QSF is receiving a lot of stick today and maybe he isn't the right man for the job but look what's he inherited. A team that hasn't won a game since April. A team horribly under prepared for the season, fitness being the main one hence the niggling injuries that players seem to be picking up. A team that wasn't improved on, certainly at the back as we all know. A team that was conceding a horrendous amount of goals giving us virtually no chance of winning a game. An attack without a focal point, a centre forward. None of these issues are or were his fault. We are awful to watch but we are at least giving ourselves a chance in games now. I suspect they looked at him coming in to sort the goals conceded part out because without that we would definitely get relegated and come January when we could get reinforcements it would be too late. I very much doubt he will be here beyond the season end but if he got us to safety then job very much done.
Gino out I've seen as well. Mistakes have been made especially over the last summer which I'm sure he is aware of but for all the good he has done at this club I think we could cut him some slack. For those who criticise him for just looking at players as commodities, I'm not sure what you think he should do. We have to look at bringing players in that in the future will make this club some money hopefully as we are a very small fish in a very big pond. The likes of Cucho and Pedro have been bought in the hope of replicating what happened with Richarlison. Not all of them work out but actually there are a few now that are showing promise in other leagues, especially Spain.
November will be a massive month for the club with some fixtures we simply must win but going out of the cup last night was a result that most couldn't care less about

  21. Probably end up selling him to a championship club for twice as much money than we bought him for so not a total waste.

You say this but he’s also inherited a great choice of central midfielders, two quick wingers and Pereyra.

A team that hadn’t won since April was a team that hadn’t won in four games when he took over, it’s now 10..? We’ve kept clean sheets and everyone thinks that’s enough but we’ve played Arsenal, Sheff United, Spurs & Bournemouth, you couldn’t ask for a more diverse range of fixtures with different challenges yet the results are the same.

Let’s not forget this defensive genius also oversaw a nearly record breaking 8-0 tonking from City.

The man isn’t inspiring the team to victory, he’s boring them to draws.

Doucoure, a shadow of the player from a year ago. Capoue, injured, Cleverley, Chalobah? Pereyra not done enough for a while now as many have stated. Two quick wingers, one is Sarr who doesn't look ready for Premier League football and is now injured. We've kept clean sheets which is an improvement. Before he came we weren't scoring any goals playing with a more attacking formation so reverting to trying to keep it tight makes sense. The biggest issue for me was the fact that we looked no where near ready for the season

Doucoure was amazing against Spurs. If we know he can play to a certain level the manager should be getting it out of him every week.

Injuries sorted themselves out under Javi and whilst I hope it’s coincidence we’ve now made three enforced subs in three games - what’s happening in training?

Clean sheets are okay for now but he’s doing the absolute extreme to achieve that. Will he be able to adapt when it comes to needing to score the goals to survive? Or will he continue to hope we nick one through individual brilliance and close shop because that is the only attacking tactic I see right now and it’s not good enough.

Ok but....We were creating hatfuls of chances at the start of the season and just needed the luck to change and then a few goals would have given the strikers back the confidence they were missing. We know GD & Gray can score. Now we aren't even creating any chances so zero chance the strikers will get their confidence back and start to score. Was it 6 shots, one on target at Everton ? No wonder that when a chance comes along they show no composure.....

Did any of you read Qsf's pre match comments?

He basically said that winning this game was unimportant and winning in the league is priority. We were never up for this (not that it would have made a difference if we were up for it...)

I feel sorry for those who went all the way up there to see a drab 90 minutes of football, but this is the league cup and we are better off out of it when we cant go a game without more injuries.

It is easy to create lots of chances when you are willing to put zero work into defensive organisation.

Lets not rose tint the first 6 weeks, we could have conceded 12 goals a game and were equally as ineffective at finishing our chances as we are now.

Javi is responsible for this car crash of season and this unmotivated, unfit, disorganised and demoralised squad

  33. Knight GT

Brighton and Newcastle we certainly did not do that. We created 3 clear cut chances against Sheff Utd, at least 3 more at Spurs and some decent half chances against Bournemouth. Forget the Everton game, it's a game that simply was not important

    Brighton and WHU we did.
    I know shots stats don't always tell the full story but our shots and our opponents shots for the the first 2 home games and last 2 home games;

    BHA 11-5
    WHU 23-16
    SU 8-9
    AFCB 7-15

Arguably our best defensive performance was the 0-3 game vs Brighton.

when and how was Sarr injured as it didn't appear to be playing football, is it an excuse to say he is injured as hey don't want to admit he isn't ready for us!
