Losing Troy Cooley the bowling coach after the Ashes in 2005!

We replaced him with the cheapest option in Kevin Shine and he's simply not good enough! We had Allan Donald and Courtney Walsh apply for the job but yet we employ someone that's utter carp!

Get the whole backroom staff out and replace them with quality ex pro's!

It says it all when Harmison is begging Michael Holding for advice after the first test...he can't turn to our bowling coach, but a skysports commentator!!! Disgrace!

Both of you are correct on this matter. I also am in agreement.

Cooley was a big loss, Shine is not in the same league I'm afraid.

Imagine if we got Geoff Boycott in as England head coach. I'm sure he'd kick a few backsides!! Ha!

That's true. Maybe they should appoint him as official headbanger!

Seriously though, after the world cup there are a lot of coaches stepping down from International jobs, i.e Woolmer (Pakistan) and Buchanan (Aus) and I think we should look at getting in Buchanan. He didn't do that good at Middlesex (but they only gave him a year), however he has now proved himself with Australia to be almost scientifically minded when it comes to the game. If they can nab Cooley, we should take him!

Christ not Boycott! As Keiran says we will be back to slow scoring drawn test matches!

The way test cricket is played today is alot more effective than how it was when Boycott played and he hates it if you listen to him on BBC! He's a wife beater anyway so no thanks!

I'd keep Fletcher as head coach because he's done a good job and transformed English cricket completely! I just think he needs to start Panesar in every match and probably time for G.Jones to say goodbye to his starting position...he's gone so far down hill with his batting!

Getting Trevor Penny in would be a great scoop, as I'm sure he'll sort out our fielding, especially the catching. I'm sure Penny was involved with England a while ago. I remember him being 12th man quite a bit just because of his fielding abilities.

Moody would be an interesting choice though, I don't follow Sri Lanka too much, but I noticed they've just got a draw in NZ and they drew in England last summer, so he must be doing something right.
