This a fascinating and sobering article on the risks of getting injured playing football. Having had a tetanus jab last week. You can't imagine a player today dying from an infection. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...en-story-of-di-jones-footballers-died-tetanus
Good read! And led me to an even better read in this: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/oct/12/the-forgotten-story-of-luton-town-manager-idol Cracking entertainment!
Always fun to point and laugh at Luton but that story really is shocking, something our red helmeted clown would have done given a chance. The "manager idol" idiocy is a real show of incompetence and so is the treatment of Mick Hartford, club legend and they treat him like that, appalling and classless from the owner, and a good way to quickly alienate the fans. How many other clubs in the last twenty years have a similar tale to tell? Well over half would be my guess,
