Is it really a shock when a lower league side knock out the reserves and kids of a completely uninterested or relegation threatened PL team?

I don't think it is. Would it be a shock if recenelty relegated Watford beat Man Utd's reserves? Probably to the sponsors - as they need United to make their sweet sweet sponsorship money worth it.

 

This is an excellent idea for an annual forum tradition. Make it so, mods!

 

It's probably not such a shock, no: certainly not as much as when the big clubs took it more seriously - but I still think it means that supporters of those clubs won't be as apathetic about the Cup as we are.

Well thats the next dozen or so league games down the pan then as the players focus on keeping fit to play the mighty Utd at one of the most famous stadiums in the world. Might be their last chance to play there ?

Aren't Man. Utd like Arsenal - one of those teams that used to win the EPL but now rely on cups to win trophies.

10 years ago this would have excited the whole town. My phone would be ringing with fair weather fans asking for tickets and we would sell out our allocation in minutes.

Now it's just a sad distraction from our every say misery.

I did find a lot of joy in seeing other Premier League clubs deliberately engineer your relegation.

I don't bother. They want to fight just to keep their lies alive, but we all know our club is in the toilet. Even Manatleisure knows.

 

The irony of the draw is that we’ve finally got United after two consecutive near misses.

In 2018-19 we would have played them in the semi-final, but they lost to Wolves the round before.

Last season we would have played them in the 4th Round, but of course we blew a 3-0 lead to eventually lose to Tranmere.
