Brentford's match with Rotherham will be played on 27th April which is in the midweek before we play them.

So in 10.5 days, they have to play Cardiff, Bournemouth, Rotherham and us.

Let’s either hope they’re exhausted, or that they are already out of the autos race, by the time our match kicks off.

That's three away games in ten days after playing a lot of second half injury time this week, that could take its toll.

If they can pick up 7-9 points from that lot fair and square (and the Swans don't suffer from travel sickness despite having to travel a long way to all their away games apart from Cardiff) then I'll have to grudgingly concede they're still very much contenders, however questionable their methods.

Boro fans rightfully furious about yesterday’s game. Here’s one comment from their forum that particularly resonated with me:

Swansea need to be sanctioned for bringing the game into disrepute. Players crowding the idiot screaming and shouting for a decision. I thought this had been banned. As Brian Clough said once upon a time. When players pick up cards the club should be fined or the manager. And points deducted for cheating. This was the time when Clough despised the constant fouling tactics that earned Leeds the moniker that still sticks to them despite the arrival of Bielsa. I highly doubt managers would then condone or actively encourage their players to try and cheat to earn decisions.

It seems quite clear to me anyway that there is a culture at Scumsea encouraged by Frankenstein for his players to cheat at every opportunity. How he could say both penalties are stonewall with a straight face is mind boggling. Mind you a straight face might be a tad hard for the monster.

There were other instances where they clearly fall to ground when the situation does not appear advantageous. In the build up to the Bola goal where the Boro right back skips past on the wing and enters the area one of the cheats players falls down hoping the referee will stop play. Or when Kebano and Roberts were tussling for the ball in the second half in the corner. The cheat Roberts fell down curled up and when the referee did not blow for a free kick suddenly leapt up to clear the ball. That is symptomatic of a cheating mentality.

The FL is they had any integrity would fine Swansea, deduct a point or two and ask the referee and his team to come in and explain their actions before demoting them back to where they belong inflicting their uselessness on the Isthmian Premier.

Fingers crossed Cardiff knock a few lumps out of them. I expect any time Moore tries to win the ball you will see Guehi, Cabango rolling around on the floor doing their Neymar act.

Their financial report comes out soon. Might be showing a rather large black hole in their finances.

As Muff did last weekend, they were definitely adept at doing that in 2015.

I had a dream last night that Dame Judi Dench, clearly in her new role as head of the EFL, demanded the game be replayed and Gazza passed to Ravenelli to score the only goal.

Everyone who is not a Scumsea fan will be behind the Rovers this week. Nearly every supporter of all the other FL clubs are casting derision at Scumsea and their antics. Unusual to see the unity. Dack and Armstrong to rip the cheats a new one. Brereton to bundle their keeper into space.

    From Forest to a Woodman?
Oddly enough I work up to hear Cascarino talking about it at 6am.
I would imagine if the referees have a weekly meeting Swansea will be mentioned and Gavin Ward will be put on the spit with Baldrick.

Baldrick turning the spit while Ward roasts.....I can just see Dante Aligheri writing about the circle of hell reserved for football referees......Roger Milford is already there.

Having managed Cardiff he is legally required to hate Swansea, although what he says is 100% correct. Also, everyone one outside Swansea hates Swansea.

No Milford, midway upon the journey of his life he found himself in a forest ( them again!) dark
For the straightforward pathway had been lost in WD18.
He ended up in the opticians on the high street and has never found his way out!
Ford Dante however is thriving and is at present staking out the (Tony) Cotoneaster plant for voles.

We probably won't get promoted this season but it's a lot more exciting and enjoyable than battling to get to 40 points in the prem with the possibility of being humiliated in front of the world in a cup final.

It shows how wrong you can be and how swiftly matters change in this hectic season.

More you look at it, the more bent that Swansea game looks.

Ref clearly gave a corner in the last minute and was looking straight at it, far closer than any linesman. So why did he change his mind and give a penalty?

  24. Carpster

    Carpster Squad Player

Agrees clearly signalled for a corner. What changed his mind is beyond me.
The positives are that from the 40 minutes of the 2nd half I watched it was all Boro. That luck will not last . But then again I believe we've had a little lately too but not in the same context.
Thankfully Blackburn got a win yesterday and can carry on with a result Tuesday.

Personally I think Brentford give you a chance to win the match just because they're so stubborn in playing out from the back. Swansea are the ones with all the luck at the moment and that won't last surely after the few days they've had.

He certainly doesn't seem to communicate with anyone and there's conflicting information that the ref told Warnock in the confrontation after the game that he gave it but Warnock in his angry interview said that the 4th official gave it.

It simply looks like the ref changes his mind following pressure from the Swansea players.

Muff Vs Swansea on the 16th

Which team will out dive the other?

Are the Muff divers better than the Swansea divers?

    Time will tell

  30. Steve Leo Beleck

If he has said that to Warnock then it's even more problematic as that's not the role of the 4th official. They are only supposed to help the other officials with things they haven't seen, not re-referee incidents.

Even tho 2 fouls by Swansea players have resulted in a disallowed goal and a penalty against
'Boro which has negatively affected ourselves as well .
Give me human error over that VAR farce in the Premier league .

I think Brentford will he crap in the premier league I can see them trying to play too much football and get battered a bit like Norwich last season. They will need to improve their defence massively they give teams in this division too many chances, if they were playing in the premier league they wouldn't get away with it.

As an aside while we wait for the next load of matches, being optimistic and assuming we are promoted, who would people like to go up this season alongside us? I, for one, like those who I feel deserve it to go up, rather than those who are more likely to struggle. So, I would like it to be Norwich, us and Brentford. Although they have struggled lately, I like the football Brentford play.
