    Thank you all.
We had hoped to bring her back to Bassett Towers but she was very frail and happily she didn't suffer too much.
Tsitsipas defeats Djokovic in three and plays Medvedev in the first semi final. Probably Federer v Thiem but we shall see.
    Murray and Fognini still bickering.

    The next generation step up.
Tsitsi beats Djokovic,as above,in addition to wins over Nadal and Federer this season.
Zverev claims his first top 10 win this year defeating Federer in three.
Thiem loses to Berrettini in straight.

Heather Watson into a WTA semi final for the first time in a year..

    Totally forgotten about her..

Another addition to the Murray family on the way it seems.

Federer and Djokovic beaten by 2 of the "next generation" - maybe there is some hope for them!

Watson has been forgotten,as has Robson,in Konta's rise. It's a lower rank event,or weaker field than others but as Heather has hardly won a match all year,it is a welcome boost for her.
Certainly is hope as all of the last four are under 23 I think.
Medvedev will probably win, ugly game but on a roll and he must have the most wins on tour since July.

Medvedev the machine to play Zverev.
Medvedev seems to be the latter day Kafelnikov, playing every week possible. He's playing next week in Moscow in a 250 event, then Vienna in a 500 and he'll have to play Paris as it is a Masters 1000. Burnt out or injury incoming.

    Straightforward for Medvedev 4&1.
    Watson loses her final.

Hoddesdon win Harris Cup on Saturday.
Berko field a full time player who hasn't played for the club in the last four years and probably won't in the next four.
Yet another dismal example of the questionable morality in the women's game. She grunted after every shot she hit,not as she hit. This is distraction and is taught by coaches. It is fundamentally dishonest.

Murray beats the Snack and plays Steve's brother Marius next.
Antwerp is the weakest field of the three 250 tournaments on this week, so Murray has a good chance of winning.

I refer the honourable gentleman to my previous post!
Murray plays another rising star Humbert who is 18 I think.
Khachanov misses a great chance to secure a place at the 02,losing in three in the quarters to Seppi, in the Kremiln Cup.

Three finals today on the men's side.
The old men, having seen off young guns Sinner and Humbert play in Antwerp, that is Wawrinka and Murray.
In Stockholm Shapovalov makes a final for the first time and plays Kraiinovic and in Moscow Rublev plays Mannarino.
Bencic plays Pavlyuchenkova in the Kremlin Cup women's event.
So many Russians or players with Russian parents. Shapovalov,Rublev,Khachanov,Sakkari,Tsitsipas,Zverev,Medvedev.
    The Spartak Club's legacy continues.
In tennis governance a coup is brewing in the ITF,the International Tennis Federation.
A Kazak billionaire has returned to the board, ousting ex president and top twenty player Katrina Adams.'Grants' have been issued to smaller nations to help their game.
    All is not well.

A good way to end the year as he doesn't appear to be at Vienna or Basel next week and I'd be surprised if he gets a wild card for 1000 in Paris.

    Shapovalov wins in Stockholm.

    Rublev in Moscow.

Unusually the topl four seeds make it to quarters in Vienna. Monfils,Berrettini,Khachanov and Thiem.
In Basel Wawrinka wins in three v Tiafoe but injures his back in the last game and gives Federer a walk over into the semis.
Tsitsi beats qualifier Berankis in three to play Krajinovic, who dents Fognini's chances of the 02.
De Minaur plays the enormous Riley Opelka and Carreno Busta v Struff.
At Batchwood Hertfordshire hosted a coaches forum. Sophie Cockle was one of the presenters, unfortunately Wally Welk wasn't present.
Dreadful video from Scott Lloyd, the federation are at their lowest ebb.

    You would think so.
De Minaur is a talent but Federer had two very easy matches and a walkover before beating Tsitsi 4 & 4 and De Minaur had a very long semi final against Opelka. Not to mention the fact that Federer is handy!
    Thiem is a machine.

Hoddesdon 40s played David Lloyd Bushey 40s yesterday.
DLB had a very odd lady, even by Lloyd clubs' standards!
She got very stroppy when Baa and Yvonne asked whether she had double bounced a shot and went into what can only be described as a five minute monologue on her perception of injustices they had delivered to her! As Baa and Yvonne were 6-0 up,this was highly questionable. Jane and I saw the point,we were changing ends at the time and it was nearly three bounces let alone two!
She then thrashed the balls into the back netting and glared at anyone and everyone, including her partner and a squirrel that was caching acorns nearby!
At the post match tea* Jane noticed this woman was talking to two of her team mates. Odd thing was they were ignoring her completely and continuing with their own conversation! this continued for about two minutes!
    * Home made soup, vegetable or parsnip, garlic bread and a cheese selection.

Match of the day for me is the two youngsters,Tsitsi v De Minaur, although Stan v Rafa,Zverev v Shapovalov and Dimitrov v Thiem all look very watchable. So what idiot picked today for my Mum's funeral?
    Oh that would be me!
    RIP Mum.
