Keeps it all in one thread that can be avoided if they so wish.
Every brexit thread descends into the same argument with the same people.

That doesn't make sense. One thread will then descend into the same argument by that logic. But the thread you closed had one of the 'same people' involved only.

Surely another thread gives the opportunity for a different debate without the person or people?

But why bother? Clive's Starmer thread is a reasonably distinct debate as to why Labour is crap in general. None of these admin issues are why threads go downhill. Most can see what that problem is.

Well we've got to try something, as the alternative is a likely closure and we really don't want that.
    Lets see if it works.

When someone starts a new thread specifically in order to insult and belittle the opinion of another poster, it would seem that restricting the creation of new threads is not an unreasonable step to take. Particularly when we have all been asked repeatedly to stop making arguments personal.

    Quite amusing readings the arguments.....

That the worst behaved poster on the board, by far, always applauds these encouragements to good behaviour and that his gormless follower then does the same, despite liking personal attack after personal attack without trying to reach out to anyone.

The reason we are pushed to the brink again in that section is because one (supported by the other) got in yet another spat.

It’s like two naughty five year olds explaining to teacher why children should behave well.

    Critical race theory anyone?

It’s snowing out and COGs vs Bedwetters is too trivial to worry my head with.

We got pushed to the brink because someone thought they would jump on the bandwagon driven by a few on here (probably wanted some support) and start a new thread intended to personally attack someone who had different views and who generally puts them across without abuse, etc. Personally, I don't agree with a lot of what HH posts but he often raises good points that should be considered, even if not agreed with.

I’m not sure if I know which thread you mean, but I don’t really care. Within hours Hooter was banging on about the same rubbish he’s spent a year banging on about, not in the cause of debate, simply to provoke. And that makes the goody two shoes act here risible. And there have been other threads recently closed.

Please no. I’m not sure the irony meter is big enough to cope when they accuse others of going on about things.

Good lord don't bring it in here as well. The next step is taking user's access away.
