Interesting to read that there were 15 reports to mods from the politics forum last week. I made one. What are you guys like? Here’s a proposal. Reinstate the politics forum and I’ll take a week off as it’s me fed up with it. No one will need to mention me for that week, by name or obliquely. Hopefully after a week everyone’s approach will have rebooted.
Tinpot forum. Not allowed to discuss the most fundamental and damaging events happening to our country. Absolutely pathetic. I've never seen another clubs board with such pearl clutching hysteria. Look at Burnley. Look at Brighton. Heated arguments allowed to run their course. A few incognito people calling each other names is not 'going to get the forum sued or shut down'. Anybody complaining to mods should politely be told to f u c k off.

I agree, but as I said above, I believed it was fair to show the mods the abuse I had been receiving prior to the complaint about me, I picked out around ten (as complaints) where I was referred to, alluded to or accused of being a nazi, white supremacist, racist, ******* ****, etc.. I had not previously made a complaint so as not to get the thread locked.
I've only ever reported spam being posted. GoBE this forum, (as far as I'm aware), was originally setup to be the one WFC forum that was work and family safe. That was it's USP. Some of the stuff that is written in the politics area simply crosses well over that "safe" line. That's what I assume takes up the mods time and that has been complained about.
Don’t understand this. Really can’t see how it is any worse than some of the bed-wetter vs happy clapper stuff in the football part. Nath, for example, gets a lot of abuse hurled at him.
It isn't. But complaints seem to be made with the intention of getting people banned for having an opposing opinion in the politics section. One poster made that absolutely clear a few weeks ago and stated it as a mission. It doesn't (seem to) happen in the main forum, mainly because it wouldn't be tolerated.
If someone is wimpish enough to go running to the teacher (the mods) then I think they should have the courage to tell us all in the same thread, and point out the horrendous posts that have caused such personal distress, then at least we can all have a laugh. I certainly think that if complaints were made public, it would reduce the frivolous "hurt feelings" type of complaint.
ZZ you always have ‘hurt feelings’. It’s your existential state. Everyone is always ‘ganging up’ on you. It’s never you being obdurate. It’s all there if you want to see it. Hooter has called me an apologist for racism about 100 times this year. It’s not a secret, I’ve had enough of it. I don’t care if you think I give out some stick too. It needs to stop. The Mods, instead of dealing with the behaviour have just binned the forum. Like I say, I’ll take a break from the forum for a week if everyone wants to reboot, but don’t dishonestly pretend like it’s some secret complaint breaking some sort of omerta.
At the root of the issues here are two things that certain members have been reminded about every time they either virtue signal about racism, or unfairly accuse others of racism. The first is, to my knowledge, the most outrageously racist and highly offensive comment, regarding East African Asians, I have seen on this forum. That was made by one poster, and I have referred to him as a racist. The second was when another member, whom I have referred to as an apologist for racism, attempted to get me banned for pointing out that the comment was racist, in which I used language and phrases introduced by the first poster, most particularly the word ****. Neither like to be reminded of what they said and did, especially when they are dishing out accusations of racism, nazism and fascism to others.
So what you are saying is you have needed to say this 100+ times, often several times in the same day and you will continue saying it? Aren’t you the big man? You actually have a chance to change here.
Ha ha, I wondered when you would start at me. Everyone else on this thread has kept it relatively impersonal. Openly discussing our feelings without personal attacks in the hope that we could psosible work out the best way to get the politics forum up and running again. But not you, even though I hadn't named you or anyone else, you still wade in with your personal attacks. You just cannot manage a discussion without them, can you? But, you have criticised me personally and you totally misunderstand me, I dont make complaints to the mods about you because you call me names, or for any other reason. I would never complain to the mods because a bit of harmless name-calling. You don't hurt my feelings at all. For me, when someone I don't even know calls me names, obviously because he has no valid argument to contribute to the discussion, it has the opposite effect of hurting my feelings. Yes I moan at you on the forum, in public so everyone can see, because of your incessant need to criticise the posters instead of discussing the issues - which inevitable takes the thread off topic, and that is frustrating. I constantly have to ask you to discuss the topic. And yes, your mates just join in because you rarely, if ever, disagree with each other, only with those with alternative views. They never tell you to stick to the thread subject because that would break the inner sanctum code. As for the accusations of racism, they could have been put to bed by publicly disagreeing with a racist post (which had to be removed) and the poster, instead of continually supporting the poster. You chose to stick your nose in and complain because the original poster was called a "terd" by HH, for heavens sake. I repeat a "terd" (shouldn't that be "turd"?). And you proudly told us that, several weeks ago. How patheic is that? A "terd"? And you weren't even the victim! You were so upset about this terrible word "terd", that you made an official complaint about it! And the Politics section gets flipping closed because of it! The funny thing is the victim in this case often calls me a "f***ing C***", on this forum and you don't say a ****ie bird, because he supports your political view against me. You chose that route, so stop whinging about it! And you have little right to stop a bit of name-calling on this forum when you are one of the most persistent abusers of all. So instead of taking a week off the forum, why not try taking a week just responding to the issues being discussed, and not insulting the posters. You will see that counter insults will stop. You have plenty to offer to a politics forum and you will find that will improve the forum immensely.
The Mods have basically told me to ignore the poster who complained about me for my own good because of the complaint that was made against me. I have been assured that the poster has been asked to do the same for his own good. I am respecting the mods request. Suffice to say though that everything I might have to say, and the reasons why I repeatedly say those things, can be ascertained from my previous posts. I have no wish to get anyone banned or suspended, and I have no wish to get threads locked. Neither do I expect people who dish out rubbish to go running to the mods when they get back what they give, particularly when it is justified by their own actions on the forum.
But what about trying for a week to answer and arguing the points on the subject matter, instead of concentrating on attacking the poster. That is also a recommendation by the mods! Why not try it, it wont hurt?
Sorry ZZ, but that’s naive. I’ve tried that many times. I’ve only had abuse for any points I try to make. Hooter has made it clear in posts within this thread that his role is to shout his opponents down for ‘virtue signalling’ or whatever other justification he has. If that means 3 or 4 times a day for months on end, that’s what he will do. Was that the kind of debate you had in mind?
It's alright, just like Watford games, you aren't obliged to stay til half time. You don't even have to go at all.
Personally, I havn't seen you try. It would certainly work with me, anyway. That has to be worth it, doesn't it?
I understand the number of left backs a club needs is always x+1 with x being the current number of left backs.
