What on earth is wrong with Shrewsbury? Attractive medieval buildings. A very impressive Victorian park. Nice cathedral. Decent indoor market. Interesting castle. As for Guildford, I lived there for a year while at college. It’s very dull, but I’m not convinced it’s worse than Middlesbrough.
I found out recently that the teacher from that film is a convicted paedophile. No wonder Ferris was steering clear.
A long time ago I worked in Stoke for a few months. In a pub, one evening, an old local told me that Stoke wasn't bombed during WWII because when the Germans flew over they thought it already had been. Stoke had such an impact on me that as soon as the job was finished I went to the Sudan and caught hepatitis. The colour of my eyes matched the WFC home shirt when I went to a game at the Vic. Titanic Ale is real and worth drinking.
Great pub just round the corner from the ground though and the pies were magnificent. Probably says a lot about why I go to football
I lived in Stoke for a year when I did a year in industry during my degree. It's a toilet and it's grim, but it's nowhere as bad as places like Luton or Burnley.
Ran the show against us one home game. Think it was pretty much his only good performance but completely dominated our midfield.
Personally the worst place I've been to is Berko. Stoke is what it is. We have a good record there too.
I honestly feel anything but a win in every single match this season will feel bitterly disappointing. Even Norwich away. We're better than everyone.
My worst away experience was around 16 years ago at Port Vale, Robbie Williams home town of Burslem. Weird place. I had a business meeting near Alderley Edge on away match day midweek. Planned it perfectly, return to hotel in Crewe, dash for train (one carriage) to Burslem. Very quiet on train but chatted to a fellow supporter who had come down from Lancaster that afternoon, got to a little chippy near train station and walked to the ground... COMPLETE GHOST TOWN (Village?) Hadn't checked.... Had rained a lot whilst I was busy at meeting.... Game postponed.!!!
Only Muff lost this midweek, plus Stoke are only 6 points behind us, we have to win this to keep a good distance from the teams outside of the playoffs. This weekend is the cup 4th round, Norwich, Muff and Swansea all have winnable ties. Brentford will probably go out unless Leicester play the kids. Hoping they get a horrible backlog of fixtures.
Good lord, that's remarkable, I'm really in your head that much from one little wetpants moment of yours, eh? How flattering. Ironically enough, it's one of the lesser places I've ever been myself.
I always liked Shrewsbury too,the town and the ground especially the man in the coracle collecting the balls! Shropshire is also Housman country so gets my vote.
I stayed in a caravan park next to Jaywick in the summer. What an absolute dive, the people on the other hand were lovely.
Yes. I’m completely baffled by a post suggesting it is less habitable than Scumtown. It’s really quite a pleasant place. Telford, on the other hand, is a dump.
I went to Jaywick as a kid for holiday, it would have been the 70s. I don't recall too much about it but I'm pretty sure the druggies and alcoholics hadn't moved in then.
