The Wobby are saying we're desperately trying to offload him but Fulham will need to pay £2m, I'm sure a deal can be done though. We must have our target lined up if we're actively pushing Okaka out the door now.

He's not going to be an easy guy to push anywhere. Thank god they're not after Troy.

Wobby journo who's been on top of most things today says the club aren't confident of replacing Okaka if he goes out on loan. That rather makes me question what we could possibly have to gain from this then?

So we are going into the rest of the season with Gray, Deeney and Okaka as our strikers? Great...

Well he's hardly played, and he's going to Fulham......in the Championship. Sums up the level he is in all honesty.

We need to lose at least one player with Deulofeu coming in. Another will have to go after Ndong joins.

Need to get the squad numbers right.

I'd sooner drop one of the dozen permanently-injured centre backs than Okaka. He hasn't played much, sure, but neither did Hughes for ages and he looked brilliant before his injury. Marco may well have had the trait seemingly all Watford head coaches have these days of deciding who he does and doesn't like and sticking stubbornly to it.

On the opening day against Liverpool, Okaka got tired and had to be replaced after an hour, something many are quick to point out as a means to deride him. My recollection of that day however was that for an hour he'd given Liverpool's defence a horrible time and got himself a deserved goal. Then against Swansea, the only good moment of the whole bloody game was when he brought the ball down on the turn, held off two defenders and played a perfectly weighted ball in behind for Richarlison which lead to our goal.

I'm not saying he's a top striker by any means but I think he has at least as much to contribute as Gray or Deeney. If either of those were on fire then I could understand having the confidence to rely on them but as things stand another option in the squad is not a bad thing.

N.B. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I always feel like Pereyra plays better when Okaka's on the pitch. They link up well and seem to be friends off the pitch so maybe it gets Bobby s bit more fired up to play with his mate.

Only issue with this is they still have to be paid. The ideal scenario for the owners is to have a full squad and nobody left out but still on the books at the end of the window. If they can loan Okaka out they get a loan fee and get rid of his wages. I know we then lose the player, but at the end of the day the books still have to be balanced. I can’t imagine Delefelou’s wages are cheap.

  11. Success or Richarlison up the middle? Both have said they can do it, if I remember correctly. Current signings, mooted signings and Success's return would allow a lot of mix and match up front, without having to rely almost entirely on the Brazilian. If other teams think they know what to expect from Richarlison, open him up a bit and put the puppy among the pigeons.

Sorry. Did I post that out loud?

It’s true Oakha May be fat, but he is still the best striker we have.

Richarlison is really off form at the moment, plus he has already had a half earlier in the season where he played as a striker (can't remember the game exactly), but I remember that he looked a bit lost up there. Sure he could be decent at running the channels as a striker, but he can't hold the ball up and his finishing is very erratic.

As for Success, I'm not even convinced he's alive any more, though even if he was he's also much better as an attacking winger.

Mix and match between five sorts of crap still amounts to crap - one in-form striker at this level, such as when we had an on-fire Ighalo for 1.5 seasons, is worth more goals than rotating between five misfits.

It's the only thing I can think too. As a player, he's one I really like. Looks like a tank, but surprisingly quick and agile with his feet - if not so much in sprinting or making runs. Okaka has an eye for goal too, he's a 'natural' striker like Tommy Smith or Heidar Helgusson.

I'd be quite disappointed to see him go, unless as you say, he's a pain in the arse around the club.

  15. Yes. I can't deny you have a point (though I'll hold judgement on whether or not they are misfits or not for a little while), but your opinion is very negative I feel, but I understand why some people allow things to affect them that way. I just hope it doesn't stop people getting behind the team, which seems to be the case with a few at the moment.

I wish people wouldn't take bad form so personally and treat it like tretchery. I know that when we do better everyone will forget the current bulls pooh, but, right now, we as fans are as culpable as anyone else for the low point we find ourselves at. If the team's not doing well, you have to let them know, and I am not averse to giving a bit of stick from the stand, but there is a risk in deciding the worst has happened before a ball is kicked. Bassett failed not only because of his dreadful style of football, but also because the fans were against him from the start, and didn't want him to succeed (booing his players at the open day for goodness sake). It would be a **** thing if we played a part in any possible, but in my opinion unlikely, demise of the club, just because some fans wanted to prove how 5hite we are under the Pozzos.

Galatasaray want to loan him. Surely we have a replacement in mind.

Tbf Gray has scored goals against Man City and Southampton recently. So it's not all bad.

Reports say that negotiations are underway and Galatasaray will have an answer by tomorrow afternoon, presumably because we'll need from now until then to sort out the replacement. I'm going for Ibrahimovic personally.

Yes - Pereya will now step into the slot as the "player not started by the manager but half the crowd thinks he should as he is a better player than the player that does start"

No...it's far too late in the day to bring in a striker.

We're going to press on with Gray and Deeney. Richarlison can play centrally if needed.

It is a risk, but we do need to trim the squad in order to fit in Deulofeu and Ndong. A couple of players will need to go, and although Okaka does have some qualities, he's not really what we need. It's no surprise to me that only Championship clubs were interested in him and that should tell it's own story.

Mad. The only win we did get (vs Leicester) came about only when Okaka entered the fray. We're coming out of this window weaker than we started.

It now looks like the transfer to Galatasary is off!! Aparently Okaka has turned up too late to get his medical done and all the paperwork sorted out.

Maybe only Championship clubs were interested (thanks for another ITK tidbit, btw), because we obviously wouldn’t strengthen a potential relegation rival.

People keep saying Richarlison can play as a striker if needed, but we've seen him attempt it more than once, and it's very evident that he can't. Not if the purpose of a striker is to score goals or allow others to score goals, anyway. This is not a solution. Seems more like Gino just going '**** it, let's hope something miraculous happens on the pitch'. I don't get it.

And no, this is not me desperately pleading for Okaka. I've never thought he's the answer, or the messiah, perhaps just a naughty boy, I don't know. But the answer would be to bring in a competent bloody striker. How have Newcastle just taken our main transfer target for the past 6 months, on loan, no less, whilst we do nothing?

    Take your point, though.

Perhaps Gino thinks that Gracia can grind out ten 0-0 draws.

Observer say Turkey's closes at 9, leaving him insufficient time to travel and undergo the medical.
