What have they achieved that a double tiered end would stop?

I wish we had bought up the Leavesden Aerodrome site before Warner Bros moved in.
Nice big site with easy access to M25.
However, it was for purely selfish reasons as I could have walked to the ground.

    Tiers for souvenirs ?
Even 2 tiers is not enough apparently.

I think Mr Gasm might be referring to big two-tiered stadiums such as Wembley or the 'London' Stadium where, if you are in the top tier, you are certainly detached from the atmosphere lower down. The 1881 have at least tried to achieve a concerted effort from the fans to come together with their singing and chanting.

That's nothing - we used to slaughter a pig and blow up its bladder to use ss a ball.

Pig ? Ha, you were lucky. We couldn't afford a pig so we had to use a gerbil. But the bladder was so small we had to leave it in the gerbil and use the whole thing.

  8. That's because Wembley splits the tiers by having a no standing no shouting no colours behave sit down and shut up hospitality tier in the middle. Tiers work just fine at the Millenium Stadium, which is a big stadium. Nothing wrong with the atmosphere at the play off v Leeds back in the day, it was brilliant. The London Arena was never going to work as a football stadium.

Looking closely at the plan of the new stadium it’s obviously of an asymmetrical design with roof of the south facade (The RookeryEnd) slightly taller .
So you could assume as the architects are the same as the Spurs stadium that there might be a single terrace at that end,but on a smaller scale as White Hart Lane.

So we will call our new ground Red Hart Road as a nod to our moose (red hart), our old stadium (road), but most importantly the onus being on the overall name being our thanks to spuds for their stadium design

This type of comment is exactly why the club, (who will probably already thought of this) will consult the fan to some degree.

Perhaps we could have a fan vote on several different stadium designs and then just stay at Vicarage Road.

I love our in-town ‘Boutique’ stadium.
We are a family Boutique club not an out of town corporate Megastore.

Are we going to be a real established middling EPL club with a 30k+ regular fan base in 20 years time that needs a 35k seater stadium?

Some ‘fans’ will get bored with a perceived lack of progress and attendances may drift away.
    OR
We market better globally and get lots of visiting Asian/Chinese trippers etc to see our Asian/Chinese megastars play?

What are the long term ambitions of the Pozzo family for WFC?
They have said they want to expand the Vic to 30k.
As long as it can be done I’m happy with that and far less risk than moving to a shiny new magastore soulless stadium.

The new stadium is a feasibility study so they are weighing up all the options and there’s nothing wrong with that.

The good news is if they are even contemplating such a move, then they are thinking big bucks potential expenditure and that is a good indication they have positive long term plans for Watford - whether the coin toss comes up heads we move or tails we stay.

(And I for one cannot believe we are even debating the pros and cons, look how far we’ve come, who would have thought it, and other banal platitudes etc)..

We cannot stand still and stagnate. Especially given the site the club is based at. Nostalgia can be a wonderful thing but it can hold back progress too. We are all prisoners of our time and our perspective is influenced by it. In time should this go ahead and in decades to come the future faithful will regard this place as their home much as people back in the thirties and forties would have started regarding the Vic as their home. When you see what progressive clubs like Brentford are doing and with a sympathetic development the club needs to take it's chance to grow further.

I have no idea about naming rights of stadia. But is it possible to build a new stadium with nearly all the costs supplied by the sponsorship and naming of said stadium? Or are the boys from Red Bull still looking for a club in England. Be interesting to hear people's views.

Build a 60,000 seater and sell tickets for a tenner and something with the potential to expand whilst also staying at VR. That’s how we please everybody right?

When Armageddon comes there won’t be enough people on the planet to fill a new 35k stadium , let alone Watford .

I wonder whether any clubs take advantage of possibly a year with no football and decide to build a new stand.
There are plenty of clubs who have held back on developing their stadiums because of the disruption to fans.

I wonder if following the current Corvid19 crisis, there will be changes to regulations for new buildings designed for large crowds. For example far more toilets and hand washing. Better egress to minimise time squashed up together?

I'd imagine Giraldi is already ahead of this. He predicted the crisis in January hence not buying any defenders and therefore extra hands to wash.

2000 objections already. Watford support in Bushey is weak. I think the club are going to be up against it if they decide to move out of Watford.
