Spot on. To survive in the prem you need a balance between mentally strong grafters, and technique players to create something out of nothing. We never really got that balance right, always too far toward the "neat and tidy" end. This is why we always ended the season so badly once we'd achieved the bare minimum. In the Championship, mentality (individual and team) is going to be so much more important. It's a long, grim slog. We can't keep overloading the squad with these mentally passive passengers. Need more Behramis, less Jurados. I worry that it's going to be a very short window between this season ending and the next opening, and we need to do a LOT of business.
Will 100% need Championship experience. Ben Watson and Guediora were KEY signings in our promotion seaosn. Even Matthew Connolly tbh.
All I know is that the players listed below all need to f**k off now. The rest of the squad is mostly full of players who will definitely be out of the door within the next month in Sarr, Welbeck, Deulofeu, Doucoure etc. and young players/loaned out players who should finally be given a chance (should they choose to stay, which is unlikely) instead of the useless, ageing donkeys below: - Deeney - Mariappa - Gray - Cleverley - Holebas - Doucoure - Femenia - Success - Pereyra - Foulquier - Masina - Cathcart
Oh I'm sure we'll have plenty of Championship "experience". No doubt we will be starting the season with the same old crap in Deeney, Gray, Cathcart, Dawson etc. Let's see how that works out.
That’s depressing ffs but probably most of that would happen. That potential line up would struggle in the championship. They’d be injured in no time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
