What do you see all the times he receives/has the ball at his feet, and does absolutely **** all with it, except possibly lose it?

I would NOT get rid of Sarr, Duelofeu or Capoue, as for Estupinan and Suarez, I would like to see them in a Watford shirt before possibly letting them go if they did not make an impact. I have no problem with the rest of your leave list.

As for your stay list, I think it is possibly time for Deeney to go, however for the rest of what you say I am equally unsure about those players.

I think we’re all in agreement that if we run the club and the financial implications of going down weren’t as severe as they are we’d all keep them players too, but a combination of their market value, wages and desires to not play in the Championship will most likely see then leave but who knows. Despite what I said, I can see Capoue staying staying so I agree with you on that one, think Suarez would be more likely to stay than Estupinan who’s had a cracking season

As for Deeney, I just can’t see who’s going to take him off our hands with him being on 65k a week. Deal runs out in 2021 so can see that being run down but wouldn’t rule out him getting a new deal

  5. I see a player who suits an expansive technical passing game in a team that’s playing hoof. I see a player who would fit very well somewhere like Athletico Madrid or Sevilla.

Deeney , Mariappa ( new contract) and someone like Cleverly are more likely to stay than most if we go down.

And Foster , Dawson and Cathcart.

Most of the others will probably attract some interest , want to leave or potentially be moved on.

I could see a couple going to Udinese for example like Masina (sounds odd but never know ) and Kiko back to Spain.

Hughes and Capoue would want to stay but might get an offer elsewhere.

Sarr and as we know Pereyra will attract interest and leave I feel.

But let's hope we don't need to find out.

  7. I think we would have bids for Doucs, Sarr, and Hughes.

Pereyra and Del will want away, and probably get it. Del maybe on loan as he’s a risk after a bad injury.

I don’t see anyone else has done enough in the last 12 months to be wanted by another club, whatever they or their agents might think.

Is there any idea of the gaps between the two seasons yet? Some of these wantaways might be forced to play a few Championship games.

It's ok @GoingDown will take over as he knows exactly what's required to run a football club

Don't need to. The owners have it covered. All these scare stories about going down to League 1 and not getting promoted straight away are unfair

Andre Gray - the full goal record:
30 in the Conference for L*t*n in 2013/14
16 in the Championship for Brentford in 2014/15
25 in the Championship for Burnley (including 2 for Brentford) in 2015/16
9 in the Premier League for Burnley in 2016/17
14 for us in nearly 3 seasons since.
(He has had no major injuries throughout this period.)

  12. There you go, proven championship and lower league goal scorer.

    It's quite insane.

It turns out that the flip side of the Pozzo model of a revolving door of attacking players, is a desperate and unhealthy attachment to every crocked and ageing defender who signs even when they retain little to zero value.

I'd keep Cleverley for the Championship.

  15. It’s easy to say get rid of this player that player... who’s going to bid for them?

It's going to be an odd transfer window. I still believe clubs would be interested in some of our dross, especially when buying clubs start to panic. Depending on which league there will be comings and goings between us and Udinese. Pereyra is nailed on to go there.

Wouldn't he be setting his sights higher than Udinese ?

The way he's playing at the moment I would say no.

Zeegelaar and Okaka both played in Udinese's 2-0 win at Roma last night.

Either Serie A is worse that we thought or there's been a few bank transfers recently.

  20. If they are dross then why would anyone of sane mind be interested?

Come on like Watford hasn't panicked before and bought dross.

Excuse me but all our signings are bargains, stolen from under the noses of giants....

Shame we cannot get de Paul. Amazing how little attention he gets. Two more assists. Udinese should send him here. Probably triple the work rate on display for a start.

Internazionale seem to have moved their sights elsewhere. I would love to hear of some interest from Filippo the fatuous about Rodders.

It may be the old syndrome of "grass is always greener" but Sema and Okaka would both have been useful over the past 3 games, at least from the bench,

Before he became an entitled celebrity. Maybe tried harder, now he thinks he’s made the big time and can do what he wants.

Didn't mind Ken. He was limited but always put a shift in and actually scored a goal once.

  31. Sure I think he's ******* hopeless, and god knows how, but he did score a lot in lower league

I think many people are caught up in the current moment. Whilst some of our squad may not be high on peoples wanted list many of those being slated (Cathcart, Dawson, Janmaat etc....) would have no shortage of takers at a price, I'm sure for some wages may be an issue but that reflects in the price, smaller fee = signing on fee or higher wage. We paid £5.5m for Dawson last year (last year of contract I think), he's 30 (not bad age for a CB) and people are seriously suggesting he has no value. Really. Many lower end/newly promoted teams would happily take Cathcart, etc.....

Although it pains me to say it a little (and I have said the same several times over the past few years), I really think we need to move away from Deeney. He has been fantastic in previous times and probably not quite as bad as the stick he gets now but is obviously an influence in the club and has been one of the few constants during these periods of players 'downing tools' for managers on a regular basis. I don't know and have no facts to back it up but I suspect he is also influential in these situations, you cannot be the face of good things and have no involvement in the bad.

I really do think that no Deeney would see a huge difference in the attitude of the squad and our playing style as we don't have to play to his now limited strengths. If he scored shed loads then maybe you live with it, but he doesn't. Take out penalties ( you would like to think several players would have at least 90% of his success rate) and I genuinely think the likes of Success and Okaka would comfortably score the same with the same playing time and everybody thinks they are crap, who knows what a decent striker would achieve. If they stayed fit enough to play them of course in those two examples.

Deeney out, I think, leads to a big change in the squad even with largely the same players.

That CB listing is horrific. Wilmot is an unknown and now also injured. The rest, if this list became a reality would be horrific, even in the Championship.
