What a strange sense of deja vu.

I wonder who will be brave enough to take on the task and if they'll be able to make any sort of significant improvements in time to keep us from the drop. I doubt it tbh.

Strange timing, what with Leicester on Wednesday night, but he had to go.

4 games? We hadn't played well since the semi-final. And, to be honest, that was a bit of a fluke, wasn't it? Javi had to go, and really, with hindsight, should have gone in the close season. The catastrophes were replacing him with QSF and not replacing poor players with good, fit players.

 

Not clearly. None of the Watford players noticed it. (Or maybe they are just too polite).

 

Well, the most competent coaches are already coaching in the EPL, which may be one reason all the other teams are beating us.

Because 'not shooting' is what he does. He used to, but lost confidence. It p**sses me off, but not as much as the appearance that none of our failure-coaches have thought to get him hitting it first time again. I mean, just how difficult is that? Why not, on the training ground, just scream at him "Hit it first time, you ****". Do that, say, half a dozen times, maybe in French.

 

He gets slated a lot on here (and is often poor when we have possession) but his defensive work rate is so underrated. I think I remember seeing something last season that he was in the top 20 for defensive pressures in the PL or something.

I like him, generally, and definitely works hard. But he is poor in the tackle. It is either so weak it is ineffective, or he gives away a free-kick.

 

That would make sense.
I just don't get why people choose him to criticise when there is so much that is really bad going on. He is too slow and too one-footed, but he can pick a pass and tackles and harries so much in mid-field, breaking up large numbers of opposition build-ups.

Said just this as it was happening. He might not always seem to be setting the place on fire, but he has good positional sense and doesn’t hide. Happens every time. Meanwhile, Doucoure was having a complete stinker.

 

We needed a defender for a midfielder. We needed to win in midfield to stop them pressuring our back line.

No point in having 5 defenders if they just let someone walk through and tap it home as they did with the equaliser.

 

Individual mistakes like replacing Hughes with Chalobah rather than Troy (if fit enough) or Quina, and taking off Del (to save him for Leicester?) and thus ceding control of the game.

 

On the handball, people saying it was difficult to spot, no Watford player appealed. Why did no Watford player appeal, weren't they watching? Why did Holebas not appeal, wasn't he watching? No, oh, that's all right then!!!!

After having a good sleep and a chance to look at things with a clearer head and calmer mood, I can officially say football is dead to me.

From poor negative displays to dodgy VAR to football in general, I just feel so apathetic to the whole corrupt pointless excuse of a sport.
