I’m soaking wet and peed off. Dreadful error in our box by Bobby P to give them the lead.

Delafoo should of equalised, Deeney on Hughes off. Quite poor overall. Southampton deserve it so far. Need a big HT talk by the goblin to get sonething out of this one.

Watching this on the box at home, I know it must be difficult to play in rain so bad that Noah is considering getting himself down to Selco and making another ark, but this has been poor.

Easily dispossessed, wasteful in front of goal, not making good choices, not communicating. It's the same old story when we play crappy teams, it was the same story when we played Southampton at that soulless little warehouse of a ground before.

I don't know if it's arrogance, idiocy or luck, but I'm annoyed that it keeps happening.

Hopefully Gracia can get them to extract their heads from their rectums and wake up

If our A team aren’t that keen on this kind of game (bad weather / lower premiership team), why don’t we play our B team instead , they looked alright in th league cup

Absoloutly farce at 80 mins , I’m giving up watching we ain’t scoring today.

At last we got a few points before our normal mid season collapse

Have to say I think Gerry D is to blame for today

Ah : holebas just scored - come on watford

Well least we didn't lose .

Sounds like the ref had a shocker - you know they have when both players , fans and managers are angry with them .

One thing to brighten up your evenings - we now have 20 points after 11 games. At this rate, we will be safe after 22 games with another 16 to spare.

A point was probably fair, though we definitely had chances towards the end to win.

    Massive lols at the refereeing.

Our penalty shout was as stonewall as they come, quickly followed by the banter-disallow of their goal.

Didn't quite seem to click today. Thought Deeney played well when he came on, and Success also was good. Good to see Chaloback. And a goal for everyone's favourite left back!

    Looked quite wet.

Not one that'll live long in the memory.

Shocking game, both teams devoid of quality. Definitely a last on MOTD affair

Draw is reasonable, but Southampton really did look like a turgid team

If only half the team showed the same level of desire and commitment as shown by Deeney today we would win these games at a canter. Kiko was excellent aside from his clearance gaffe with Pereyra. Southampton are awful nearly as bad as the referee. Too many misplaced passes, lack of hunger to get to the second ball and in general commitment. Those dives by Hojberg and Gabbiadini deserve retrospective bans.

As for the penalty. Clear as day. Goals do change the momentum of games and not only that it should have been a second yellow for Bertrand and a red card. Deulofeu has to learn so much. He is willing ? Justplay it simple. Tries too hard and over complicates and he needs one to get his head up and too learn to use his left foot to check back onto. Chalobah was off the pace too but that was understandable. Doucoure was very poor by his standards even the goal came from being unable to control the ball. Success and Deeney look decent together and Isaac played well once more. Pereyra was also off colour and lets hope Hughes just picked up a minor knock to his back when he was barged into. Mariappa was also very good. Holebas needs to practice his set pieces once again. Poor delivery most of the time.

And Capoue was sorely missed from the base of the midfield. Really missed. We do have a paper thin squad in reality and we cannot stress it enough need reinforcing upfront and a ball carrying centreback.

We cannot afford to be dropping points to teams who are where they are because they are genuinely rubbish. Thats Fulham, Newcastle and Southampton where instead of gaining nine points we have only picked up two. Simply not good enough.

Delufoeu is a fantastic player, but he does need to remember his teammates from time to time. Perhaps he thinks its on him to do it all every time, but floating a ball into the box is better than 3 jinks and losing it. Deeney looks hungry. Missed Capoue.

Disappointing performance today, but relieved to get a point . Thought we massively missed Capoue today . Chalobah a bit off the pace and didn’t provide the same bite, but not surprising as obviously he needs game time .

Thought Southampton were very competitive, first to most balls but looked shaky at the back in the first half and we didn’t take advantage

It was the sort of game where you just take the point and forget the match ever occurred.

Pereyra with one, perhaps both eyes on his flight to Argentina tonight in the lead up to their goal. Referee seemed to lack sight altogether with two crazy decisions that I can't explain.

Fair result at the end of the day, we won't ever get a penalty if today's debacle was anything to go by, agree they should have had a second goal so both teams can complain at the ref! However had we had the penalty we would probably had been going for the juggler up the other end of the field, instead of conceding a goal!

Lots of play acting and nasty little fouls from Southampton they are turning into Stoke city I wonder why?

You want to see signs of progress in your side and I think we are seeing this.

From January to May we were shocking on the road. Couldn’t score a single goal. Practically beaten before we started. Horrible.

So, bar Newcastle where on another day we could have scored 4 or 5, and against an Arsenal side currently on a run of 15 unbeaten and with another performance where we missed good chances, we’ve put that right. 3 at Burnley, 2 at Wolves and 1 apiece at Fulham and today. And 4 in two cup games on the road too.

So yes while it’s perfectly fair to bemoan our lack of a quality finisher and look at certain results in terms of points dropped, at least this season we are going into away games with a chance of getting something. Progress.

Yes, still lots to improve on. Another patchy showing today, inconsistent in performances, some pluses but some minuses too, and a shocker from the ref.

But we got a point today. From a losing position. Against a team who Sod’s law seemed to be determining would get their first home win of the season.

Happily banked, ahead of the two week break and a visit from Salah, Mané and co.

    They all count.

Well in the end, a point feels like a victory today. That was by far our worst performance of the season, but then it was predictable. Cold and wet are not conditions Watford excel in.

It was so important not to lose today though. After that poor result last week, to lose to another relegation threatened side would only draw us towards the wrong end of the table. Only 2 points from Fulham, Newcastle and Southampton is a really poor return. All those club were in a real crisis when we played them and we MUST take advantage of clubs like this.

Having said that, we still have all 3 of them to play at home, plus Cardiff home and away. These sides are well adrift of the rest of the league in terms of quality, so hopefully we'll beat them all.

Good seeing that Bournemouth had a bad defeat and now we're level with them, so at least that's a positive.

We must learn to take our chances though when they come along. In all these games, we've had good early chances to put the game beyond the opposition, but every time, we've let them off the hook and they've gone on to take at least a point from the match.

The referee was out of his depth and made two incredibly bad decisions, but at least it was one for both sides, rather than only us being completely shafted, which is normally the case. He won't be getting another Premier League match.

A stonewall penalty to us not given. Had that been Bournemouth the ref would have given them two penalties as it was so clear cut. Having said that, a penalty doesn't always mean a goal. Deeney has missed his last two, so there's no guarantee we would have scored. There was a guarantee of Southampton scoring though, as Austin had a second goal incorrectly chalked off for another player being offside. No doubt Mark Hughes will make a big reference to that "goal" but will ignore the penalty we should have had in his post-match interview.

  32. Not often you see a ref completely out of his depth, should be nowhere near a premier league game.

Our performance was woeful from start to finish. Cathcart and Mapps are too slow on the ball and just not good enough with it, Doucoure and Chalobah seemed to play 30 yards apart and looked total strangers, Delias decision making is dire, Hughes and Pereyra contributed very little.

Just like last week we didn't show the balls needed to scrap for the game and do the dirty side.

I hate Hughes teams, nasty spiteful football, he's a dinosaur who should be nowhere near the modern game.

The ref getting torn to pieces on Final Score. Can’t see him taking charge of another prem game any time soon.

Although I usually hate it, an international break is probably what we needed right now. We were very poor today and our usually standout players were missing.

That said, Deeney was a breath of fresh air today as he looked like the only one looking to try and get a result out of this game.

Deulofeu was garbage. Really, really poor. However, it would be unfair to judge him based on the last 2 games alone because the team as a whole was dire. He does need to sort himself out for the next game if we are even thinking of trying to get a result out of it.

Very happy with the point because it could have very easily been 2-0 to Sarfampton, but then again, if the referee wasn't so utterly cr@p, it could have been 2-2. Either way, a draw seemed pretty fair at the end of the day.
