It’s not looking like there will be lots of opportunities to holiday abroad. So if you are fortunate enough, where in these beautiful islands will you be heading?

I’m looking forward to TUI rearranging our family package holiday to the new destinations it’s suddenly discovered. I’m hoping for ‘North Sea oil rig’ rather than ‘Faroe Islands-on-Sea’.

Last autumn I had the foresight to book a break in Devon for the first week of August.
Just after Christmas I booked an additional week in Dorset as we had an expensive trip to Peru last year so we decided to stay in country this year.

I'm hoping that they will be open by then.

Just booked a week in the Nth Yorkshire Moors in mid Sept. Then have a 2 week tour of Thailand booked in Dec (hoping that restrictions will have been relaxed by then, can cancel and rebook a year later if they're not).

My back garden. It currently provides plenty of opportunities for nature lovers and those who prefer an activity-based break. Just before lockdown we discovered that a tree had brought down 3 fence panels at the back of the garden and our plans to replace the entire fencing with deer fencing have been scuppered by the fact that the fencing company can’t do so while social distancing. So - the nature loving part of me can enjoy the sight of numerous deer wondering into the garden at regular intervals; then starts the activity part of the holiday - running round the garden trying to make sure the deer get back out safely before the dogs spot them. (So far today - have had to do this four times)

It’s a nightmare keeping the corgis away from the deer.

We have woods around us. Saw a mother and baby deer on our walk today, which was lovely. Luckily the dogs were on the lead at the time.

We regularly get muntjac in the garden and our camera trap has picked up a much larger deer sp (fallow ?), plus 3 different foxes (which we feed) plus badgers (which is a shame as we have a perfect garden for Hhogs, but they'd eat them!). Must be amazing to have families of deer arriving en masse. Anyway, thread drift.....

I was planning on going to Luton. I've heard the prices and B&B's are out of this world. Great service, comfy beds, nice meals and plenty of banter.

Yes and not now. I've run out of jobs. Yesterday I dug a hole and today I filled it in. A sense of achievent was gained, more rewarding than the past 8 years in my job.

One of the must fulfilling days of work I've ever had was at the end of a contract with A. Major-Player plc when, because of the NDA, I had to ensure that all physical copies (after ensuring all electronic version was sent to the company) of the work we had carried out (data, reports) had to be physically destroyed. The first was day spent wiping and re-formatting HDD's and pen-drives with the following day spent feeding reports, DVDs and CDs (along with quite a few cups, saucers and items of cutlery and a few assorted possessions, supplied by co-workers, of our hated supervisor) into the mother of all shredders...

Work keeps confidential waste for 3 months then it's shredded. I quite enjoy standing over the shredder for half an hour on the 1st of each month. I make rubbish bean bags out of the shredding and have a little sit before dumping in the recycling bin.
