Same here, it's going to be so nice to actually have 1 complete stand down that side of the pitch!

Brazilian Eastern European builders would probably get in their own way, thus slowing down the building efforts.

Exactly how many is a Brazilian, anyway?

Duxbury said he had stripped a lot of the cost out of building this stand in his recent interview - expect the costs to keep escalating with the many changes we have made now though and asbestos removal must be done by specialists which will add more £££.

Remember that originally we were building over the top of the old changing rooms and going only part of the way down the pitch.

Can't see why the club won't give us an update as I can't see anyone complaining of a few months delay after the years we have waited already.

When I started going to The Vic there was a greyhound track around the outside. The Vic Road end was an open terrace and you had to p*$$ in a hole in the ground. The Rookery was a shallow terrace with covering and the Rous/GT stand was a wooden construction with terracing in front. Amongst all of that ramshackle collection of stands, the East Stand was exactly as it was up until about 3 or 4 years ago.

If we have to wait a couple of extra months to see a proper stand that side does it really matter?? I've been waiting since 1977.

That's how it was when I started going. Part of me wishes it was still like that.

You can still pee on the ground if you like (until you get thrown out).

You are a mere youth :) I remember when the Rookery was just a cinder bank, no terracing and no roof.

Its ironic isnt it.. only for a while now we have had a half built stand that is, give or take, the same size as the stand it replaced!

Slap a roof on the old extention part and add some bucket seats at the Vic road end.. and we're back where we started.

    Luxury!

You were lucky. I remember when it was just mud - up to our eyebrows it was!

I remember when Vicarage road wasn't a road but a public walkway. We called it Vicarage Path.

From looking at the time lapse shots, there seems to be some prep work undertaken, which suggested to me that the demolition of the remnants of the old East Stand is imminent. Hoarding and temporary fencing seems to have been erected recently.

Not denying it might be imminent but I think all they've done is string out some tape across the pitch side. Possibly to stop builders going on the pitch?

Actually having a look at that wall, it doesn't seem "tied in" to the steelwork at all.

    Good old spaniards.

On the last Monday timelapse, the pigeons look like they are really enjoying a banquet on the newly sown pitch.

Looking at the time lapse from 1st May up until today is really a case if " spot the difference " does anyone really know what's happening or which season they are hoping to get the stand ready for?

It looks like an asbestos skip has been delivered and they've cordoned it off so I'd say they are now stripping out the last bit

They are still there, but are being phased out. Whether they get phased out completely is another matter which we'll have to wait and see.

That was my understanding of the Wobby article - that a particular group of subbies weren't up to scratch, though I expect Roy is fairly clued up on this given his contacts.

Also my understanding that GL would carry on doing the building work but the interior lot had been changed, maybe due to the change in size plans another company would be better.
