Should we all be Liverpool supporters?

?

Do you support the plucky 'Brits' when they play in Europe?

  1. Yes, of course. They represent the dominant power of the marvellous English Premier League.

Well they might have felt like us - best player injured early and gift 2 goals to the opposition (with one stunning strike in the middle..) after drawing level to give hope.

One amazing finish and two goalkeeping howlers. When a keeper makes a mistake it is magnified as he is usually the last line of defence. However everyone makes mistakes and no one has died. It's only a football match albeit quite an important one and when you lose of course you feel down.

As usual social media is crawling with idiots urging Karius and his family to die. The mindset of such morons always never ceases to amaze and disgust me at the same time.

His career at Liverpool is dead, there's not doubt about that.

He's always had a mistake in him, but tonight was probably the pinnacle for goalkeeping bloopers. He should never be playing at the level he is. Klopp has to take a lot of the blame for picking someone who is clearly not up to it.

Most teams in the Premier league have better keepers than Liverpool. It's really strange that they've not been able to find a keeper that's even competent.

Managers can be stubborn and refuse to admit their mistakes. Klopp may well stand by Karius (although his handling has always been mediocre by modern standards) but in going after Allison and looking at Butland he knows it is a position they must strengthen in given that their other two keepers, Mignolet and Bogdan have also made some outrageous howlers as well.

It's no surprise he is no where near the Germany squad with ter Stegen and Trapp and Henrichs longer term.

What Ramos did was intentional and ruined a final for a player and a team, cute 'game managing' fouls like that are too easily swept under the carpet and its time that the governing bodies look into things like that, really ruins a game, how do you handle Salah? Force him off the pitch with a potential World Cup ending injury, poor display Ramos.

It’s only 8 hours so not long enough to establish an insurmountable lead in the use of new technologies or anything but the future nonetheless.

What Ramos did, is what Ramos does. He's brilliant at it.

Salah was Liverpool's x-factor. Real knew this and it was Ramos' job to make Salah "ineffective". He was prepared to take a red for it too, but it was job done after 30 minutes with no card even.

Once Salah went off, it was always going to be Real's match, but Karius was an added bonus.

Karius has been a potential liability for 2 years now. Unfortunately for Liverpool he has imploded on the biggest night. It’s not his fault. He’s simply substandard and Liverpool didn’t address this fact.

Feel so sorry for Karius. His own players even turned on him. Absolute joke of a club. Karius has massively improved this second half of this season, it was only a month or so ago that pundits, fans and Klopp were praising him for improving so much and making some very important saves that clinched 3 points in various games. I really do feel for him. He was crying his eyes out and apologizing. So called Liverpool fans wishing him to die on social should be banned permanently from any future Liverpool games. They clearly need a reality check.

I was surprised the ex-pro pundits were downplaying it after the game. From the first replay it was obviously a deliberate hit job. I'm not sure if VAR would have led to a different outcome mind.

Karius may not be that good, but we couldn’t score against him on the road under Gracia.

    This x 100.

With Bale's wonder goal, 2 keeper howlers and Real winning an amazing 3rd in a row, the press have plenty to feed off, but Ramos is footballing cancer. He robbed the final of its jewel in a display which exemplifies everything that is wrong with modern football at the highest level.

I hope Ramos' celebrations are curbed this morning by finding an inoperable lump on his testes and he does painfully. Vile excuse for a human.

I'm glad Liverpool didn't win tho.

I’m no fan whatsoever of the Scousers, and some of their fans are ****s, but this is a bit strong, isn’t it? They reached the Champions League final and thrashed Citeh on the way. If you’re referring to his teammates “turning on him” - well, did they? Or did they just ignore him afterwards? That’s regrettable and poor form, but not wholly surprising in the circumstances: I don’t see it makes the club an “absolute joke”.

Hackchewally, I've just remembered something from last night that shows what a "class act" Klopp and his players are: after the whistle not a single senior member of staff/players went near Marius. In fact, ISTR, that Madrid players went to help/support him rather than his own team...

Real conceded 5 fouls last night, none of them by Ramos. Liverpool conceded 18 fouls. How do you stop antics like Ramos's when the refs aren't even pulling him up for it?

Just 2 minutes before the first howler.
It doesn't excuse throwing the ball the way he did or where he did but bloody hell, an elbow in the chops doesn't do anyone any favours.

Ramos knew the ref was crap and was too star struck to punish these super stars. Some of the fouls given against Liverpool wouldn’t even get pulled up in the PL and that’s saying something.

Judging by the fawning in the media over Liverpool following that embarrassing loss, I can only imagine what would have been written had they actually won.

The nation had a narrow squeak last night.

Ramos is a nasty piece of work, but his antics ensured Real won. He did what he needed to do. Personally I hate winning like that, but some do not care. Winning by any means is all that counts.

History will not record Ramos taking out Salah, or smashing Karius in the face with an elbow. It will just record Real Madrid won the CL final for a third consecutive time and Ramos was part of that team.

Liverpool and other sides have to wise up. When you play opponents like Real Madrid, cheating/dark arts is just part of the game. The trouble is other teams and officials are far too na*ve to understand it.

Real Madrid win and the rest are left to cry foul after the event, while Ramos and co. go home laughing while they polish their winners medals.

Karius isn't good enough and I can understand his team mates shunning him after he cost them the biggest game of their lives, but I feel terribly sorry for the guy and hope that his team mates rally round him now the dust has settled. But he needs to find a club not in the UK or Spain

Not compulsory but anyone with any ounce of compassion would make a beeline for the goalkeeper.

He didn’t mean to fick up & if he’s not competent enough, even more reason to reassure him.

I don’t buy any of the Klopp schtick. Extremely needy - horrifically, on a par with Mr ****egrity - swift to deflect any blame & nothing original on tactics.

I hate posts that start "In my opinion" or " I think that".

It's a forum - if someone posts, of course it's their opinion or what they think. Why do I want to read about them thinking it before I get to the actual thing they think?

In HB1's post you object to he made a statement of opinion without subjecting us to a paragraph of preamble. What's your problem?
