Maybe the positive vibes will spread. DAN SHITTU believes Watford's gutsy display at the City of Manchester Stadium is evidence that the Hornets can beat the drop. The Nigerian man mountain was a rock at the heart of the Hornets defence who stood firm in the face of a late onslaught from Stuart Pearce's in-form side to earn a thoroughly-merited point. Asked if he believes Watford can defy the odds and survive a second term in the top flight, the summer signing replied: "Definitely, we can do it. "We've done well in a lot of games this season and haven't been battered by any team. We've just got to get some goals and then we can start pushing up." Shittu was recalled to the side at the expense of Malkay MacKay, who did not even make the 16, and his aerial presence and bravery was central to Watford keeping a clean sheet. "City have got a really good side and we knew we had to come here and work hard," said the former QPR man. "We are glad we got a point. We knew they were going to come at us but defending is what we get paid to do and I'm pleased we stopped them from scoring."
I took that from the Croydon Guardian. I don't remember them onslaughtering us all game let alone towards the end!! Bless. The reporter must have been a Citizen!!
did anyone read the interview with him after the newcastle match? he was saying how although he wasnt taking a penalty, he was giving 'abuse' to all ther players
Shittu has been an inspired signing, the commitment he and Jay show in defence encapsulates our determination. Both try and block anything. Brilliant, also you certainly wouldn’t want to get in an argument with him!
I was EXTREMLEY sceptical when we signed Danny and i thought my fears were confirmed by Half time at Everton...i'm so pleased he's come on leaps and bounds since first 45 minutes at Everton and has been our joint player of the season with Mahon so far! If Danny keeps his form going to the end of the season regardless of our final league position he'll have to go down as one of the bargains of the season! He's fast becoming a fans favourite!
He walked past me before the Sheff. Utd game, and I would not want to pee him off!!! He is massive!!! Even if he does laugh like Frank Bruno... I didn't say that Danny, honest...
