So what month do you reckon we'll win our first game in this season?

They might come down and trash the place anyway!

Someone needs to get into the team and management and show them some old videos to make them understand that this rivalry really matters to fans.

The scum finished the season on a real up and will be aiming for play offs this one. We need to get rid of our losers' mentality sharpish, get fired up and smash them to pieces.

I think we couldn't have asked for a more interesting opener. Warnock is an old hand and is good in the Championship, although I don't rate Boro's team much he will get them playing.

The crunch game in there could be the penultimate match away to Brentford, Champions decider perhaps?

Gutted that we won't have the chance to play them in front of a crowd, atmosphere would've been electric.

And surely Herts Police would've learned from the Battle of Market Street and been on all over that fixture, maybe even putting some police in the ground this time!

    Quite possible.
Do Watford constabulary have anti tank missiles?

Yup, it's a big shame and gives them the edge as well as the return fixture will almost certainly have a crowd of some description there.

It’s a tricky fixture. I’m a bit concerned about it. We really don’t want to replicate the start we had last year. The next two, in fact perhaps the next four, are no cakewalk either.

    Will be on TV, surely?

Some cracking away games before the end of the year which I expect we won’t be able to attend. Particularly the Derby, Bristol and Nottingham games.

Looking at November and December. Saturday, Wednesday virtually every week apart from the international break. Looks brutal. Need a fit squad with quality options to rest key players.

Oh well someone wanted a chance to get to Middlesbrough - and Easter Monday it is, and whatever the season brings I hope the situation with the virus will improved to the point to see us nearly back to normal by April 2021.

Would have been nice to benefit from a home crowd against them and to have settled on our squad by the time we played them. I'd imagine we will still resemble a runway at Heathrow in late September....

How come some months we are playing home games on Wednesdays and other months on Tuesdays, I can see quite a few fans missing the Tuesday ones!

I think it was said that crowds in England won't be allowed in the top 6 tiers until October at the earliest. I saw on BBC Breakfast this morning that Scotland may allow some crowds in next month.

  17. Glad those gypos from up the road don’t get to infest our ground, will save thousands on the cost of jet washing everything down afterwards

Looking at those fixtures, I struggle to see how we won't win all 46 games. We will piss the league this season as per the very smart people on Twitter.

I think it's right and proper we take a sober look at what it's realistic to expect us to achieve this season. It's no good banding around things like we'll win all 46 games. It's disrespectful to our opponents and teams that go down rarely romp back up.

It's 45 wins and 1 draw for me Geoff.

Welcome back to the championship lads!

That’s the best fixture list I have seen in years. Such a shame we can’t properly go.

I know it's your hallmark m8, but does that really warrant the snide second paragraph?

    There seems to be 3 international breaks, 10/10, 14/11 & 27/3

The big negative is that our Away games against Norwich, Bournemouth and Brentford are all in the second half of the season (from late Feb on), which means it might be more likely they'll have fans compared to the return fixtures.

My thoughts exactly, I would not be surprised to see some of the meatheads roaming around Watford looking for trouble on the day of the match and even in the days leading up to it.

At least by the time we play Sheffield Wednesday in the second week we would still be above them after the match.

"It's also the second time this season these two teams have met in cup competition. Everyone I'm sure remembers Man City reserves thrashing then table-topping Watford in a League Cup 3rd Round back in September. Now in January Watford are deep in a fight against relegation for the second season running..."
