Selling Richarlison is a no brainer. No better than other wide players that we have, and we need the cash to strengthen other positions. Has he gone yet?

You can't read, the article says "worth up to £44m" - that's less than the possibly rising to £50mil deal they reported a couple of days ago.

  3. Its good money, and after all, he's not the crown jewel in the young player stable. Chuco has the potential to surpass anything Richy achieves by some margin.

The guy had a face like a ******* slapped bottom when slither wasn’t allowed to leave and firmly threw all his toys out of the pram and stopped playing from then on.

Whatever happens he is slithers lieutenant

Welcome to each other. If they do well okay.

If they fail I’ll laugh in their ******* faces

The numbers change daily. Which likely means that the journos are guessing based on each other's stories rather than real information.

So let's say it's £35m plus add ons to get to a max of £44m. The £35m will include the Silva settlement. So let's say £27.5m up front and say £7.5m for settlement? Begins to not look quite so generous does it?

Imagine Snake saying stick with me and next year we will both be at Madrid to him. You kind of get the impression that's what he said to get him to Watford in the first place.

The only ones changing the numbers are the journalists at the Liverpool echo. That’s where the original story of £35mil + £5mil add ons came from. Clearly not a reliable source but Everton fans jumped on the band wagon to save face.

All (ok not all, but most) other media sources are still claiming £44mil upfront plus add ons. I tend to believe them over the mouthpiece of Everton FC. Everton are being mocked all over social media so they had to do something.

It will go down as undisclosed, Everton will have their side of the story and they will cling to the £35mil price. Everyone else will believe the £44mil price, because even if it’s untrue, it’s just fun to make fun of the sensitive flowers that are Everton fans.

My god honestly, if this is true that's an unbelievable bit of business.

Richarlison on 105k a week is outrageous too, must be similar to Kane? Laughing stock those lot.

That’s just not true though really.
When things were going well for Richarlison at the start, he still had a face like a smacked a*se. It was just his demeanour the whole time, through good times and bad. Nothing can be taken from it. Much the same as he has posted many positive WFC related tweets off his own back in the last couple of months. Hardly the actions of someone who hates his surroundings. Doucoure’s form wasn’t great from January onwards - is that down to Silva’s departure too? Gomes too? Lots of players lost form when he left.

I think too much is read into this. Carrillo to me seemed like the only player who outwardly made it clear he didn’t want to be here. The rest just lost form, burnt out or got their tactics found out and couldn’t adapt. I don’t think Richarlison has forced this move at all - they’ve made a bid, we’ve quoted an exorbitant price (factoring in the Silva saga) thinking they probably wouldn’t match it and they have. The balls in his court and he’s decided to go. If the bid never came, I think he’d have been happy to stay.

They are professionals - very few of them will ‘down tools’ as they will know how bad it looks.

I wish he wasn’t going to Everton but there is no need to wish ill on Richarlison from how I look at it - we are doing very well out of him, and he’s doing very well out of us. No more, no less.

Quite agree. They'll be a lot of revisionism because he's leaving but despite his form deserting him, Richarlison never stopped trying. He never hid during a game and if anything, was trying too hard. Saying that he stopped playing is complete nonsense, he stopped being effective but still kept trying - it was obvious how frustrated he was every time he got subbed or missed a chance. It looked like he felt he was one goal away from getting back to form but it just wouldn't happen.

I don't think there's any reason why he should leave on bad terms, it's a good deal for all parties and there's never been any suggestion that he's been anything other than a model professional for us.

It’s a good deal for us and a big risk for Everton. Irrespective I’d definitely clap Ricky when he comes back. He seems a good egg so good luck to him.

Richie seems a classic Pozzo case study.

A development player was committed & earnt his shop window. Pozzo makes a 300% in a year (beats sticking in the Abbey National). The club gains the opportunity to strengthen the squad (or, indeed, the group).

And, as a crowd pleasing bonus, Sssssilva gains more rope. Time will tell how he chooses to deploy this.

The Forumerati get something more intriguing than cheese to chew over.

The only losers would appear to be the club shop who an 11 letterer.

It is stunning that we may have a replacement for one sixtieth of the price of Richie.

Part of the Silva urban myth this one. Pretty sure it was reported at the time that we had been tracking Richarlison long before Silva rocked up at the Vic. Fluminese were probably aware that WFC along with other clubs such as Chelsea had expressed an interest. It certainly helped that at the 11th hour and just before Richarlison signed for Ajax he received the call from snake Silva. Being charmed in Portuguese made all the difference, but it is pretty likely that Silva knew next to nothing about him before joining Watford. He read the dossier prepared for Gino and Duxbery about this promising young guy from Brazil. He will of course now be forever tied to Silva and his fate, which may not be the best thing long term. It was interesting Carrillo has not gone to Everton despite a good World Cup.

£35m rising to £40m max per the Liverpool echo. Presumably the compensation payment will be within that £35m ?

A lot of the Everton fans seemed convinced he will start as a forward.... have they actually seen his finishing? Maybe they could take Gray off of our hands too?

It's quite unbelievable really, I don't think Richarlison scored after Christmas but there's a long list of his absolute howlers in front of goal.

I think we need to give Gray a chance this season, he's the kind of striker that needs some confidence to really get going, was fairly prolific when he was in the championship and I think there's more to come from him.

Seen laughable comments on the Everton forum that he will be the next Mbappe or Thiery Henry

He is undoubtedly a talent but from November onwards couldn't hit a barn door. Whether his confidence will return at a new club and after a rest this summer remains to be seen but even at the lower end of the fee being bandied about we have at least tripled our money in the space of less than a year

Mbappe and Henry take the ball with them when dribbling past opponents. Everton paying 50mill to lose possession every 5 minutes

So on one hand you suggest Richardson isn't that good because he missed howlers. And then on the other you say we should be giving Gray, who missed just as many (if not more) howlers, more chances?

Yeah they both missed chances but no one's offering 50mill for Gray!

Rich was our most profligate player by a long way last season. Gray's squandered 7 big chances to Rich's 13.

This is the problem Everton face. Even at his best, Rich couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. For £40m he's a massive risk for them

  34. The undeniable truth

No one is offering £50m for Richarlison ! But in the absence of any new striker signings, Gray should be given the chance. I personally prefer Deeney at home and Gray away with maybe a swap at about 70 mins.
