Absolutely brilliant tonight - he's come on so far. No need to worry about when Fossie goes if he plays like that every week, the Barton save was world class.
Fully agreed and with the performance tonight i think a few people should eat humble pie for the way they have condemned him as a rubbish player. He proved tonight he is worthy of a yellow top.
I only saw the second half but he made some amazing saves and kept us in it. Great performance from Richard Lee.
You missed the save in the first half then... the likes of Dida would have been proud of... he played fantastic the whole 90 minutes.. and then some.
I didn't write him off but I thought, and still think that Foster is a better keeper - I'm glad to be proved wrong because honestly I had a few doubts about his size, especially with some of the challenges that went in tonight.
I wouldnt disagree that Ben is the better of the two.. but after tonights performance I know that if Ben isnt available we have nothing to fear by putting Lee in... this time last year i would have been singing a different tune!
probably the first thought for most of us was jobr's reaction, but remember he's starting to travel all the way back from manchester and we all stayed at home watching on tv btw, rich was fantastic tonight!
Jobr was the first thing i thought of watching Lee tonight... how sad is that!! lmao (No disrespect intended to Jobr i hasten to add.)
Much better than it has been... precise and confident the vast majority of the time... not always but mostly. The most important thing is his reactions.. and how he portrayed himself.. a fantastic first half save from a Joey Barton power blaster he got down on it fantastically... couldnt fault him.
None meant by me either , just as soon as you see a post about LEE , you automatically think about jobr;D
Kicking was good, much better. No weak points apart from flapping a bit before a great save in the first half
I've always said so. After the performances of Robinson recently and Green's shakyness yesterday is it toom uch to ask for two watford keepers to be in the next England squad?
We are lucky to have two decent keepers. Richard Lee has improved immensely and at this moment in time he would definitely be my first choice. I am looking forward to the Coco / Flapper Fossie debate between Jobr and PYA tomorrow. Also don't forget that Rich is ours - Fossie will be gone before long so we should bring on our own. Lastly, credit to Aidy. He sends players out on loan and is not too proud to play them when they come back (Hammy, Chambers and Rich).
I can never understand why managers bring loan players back and then leave them in the reserves , A credit to Aidy
The fact is no one could ever doubt Richard Lee is a shot stopper. I don't think even jobr does. His kicking has improved but is still slightly suspect and he still has a way to go to convince me he's in total command of his area. That said, it was an excellent performance from him tonight. More of the same please!
I suppose the flap in the first half before the goal line save will undermine the argument about his control of the area
lee was super fantastic save from barton free kick and micah richards shot qusetion now is, with ben supposedly to be fit for reading who would you play? i'd play rich
As I say, he's always been as good a shot stopper as anyone. It's the rest of his game that needed improving - it's starting to improve, I hope it continues.
i think Ben is as good a shot stopper as Rich but gives more confidence to the players around him so for now it has to be Ben.
i thought he did very well to make that save. he was on his arse and managed to claw he's way up and punch it away through a load of layers may i add
I have to say a performance like that has reminded some people that Richard Lee can actually play in goal. Considering he is improving all the time, I would play him against Reading. Then again, I usually side with PYA in the Coco/Bozo debate.
