Yes, but it would be delicious to see West Ham go down - for so many reasons.

We'll be fine, Pearson has had a sort of pre season with the players which would've helped. Comfortable survival before the City game. We'll absolutely embarrass Arsenal on the last day with a 4-0 win. All of this will upset the miserable lot on here but even they'll be able to crack a smile at some point this season.

No way, one of my favourite weekends away.
I suppose I could still go there without the football. but it would not be the same.

Not for me. it is not. Happening now but not keen on Southampton as an away day. Shame about Norwich on that basis too. Would now accept Brighton, BourneMouth and Norwich. But if it has to be Norwich, Aston Villa and West Ham so be it

Thank you Pepe for belatedly producing some magic that isn't in the Europa League ;)
Berndt Leno looks like he'll be out for the season, this Martinez lad looks solid, but Leno is a shining light on an otherwise extremely underwhelming Arsenal side

If Bournemouth win tonight I would make Norwich, AV and us as strong favourites....coincidentally the bottom 3 at that point :-(. Arsenal had that won but just couldn't be bothered. BHA were poor but just wanted it more.

You’re forgetting about West Ham who are currently losing, so if Bournemouth win we won’t be in the bottoms three as it stands.

West Ham didn't look like they wanted anything. They've been silent relegation candidates and wouldn't it be beautiful to see.

Tricky run of games for Bournemouth too, most of the teams they have to play are well in the hunt for the Champions League, and they have no 6 pointers left, unlike many of the teams down there

I think it will be Norwich , Villa and between us and West Ham on goal difference.

I thought West Ham would have an advantage not playing in front of their poisonous fan base, just shows how far away from the pitch they actually are in that ludicrous stadium.

    .... And palace lead!

Fantastic, nobody comes back from 1-0 against palace, never mind 2-0.

All things considered not a bad first round of games for us.

That last-minute Brighton winner was a blow, but our result at least means we're a point further away from Bournemouth and West Ham. Can't see Bournemouth scoring, for all their talent upfront they're woeful. Would be delighted to see them go, Saint Eddie's bubble has almost been burst.

Need Chelsea to see off Villa tomorrow, and then it'll be a decent weekend for us as far as results around us go (saying that, usually when we need a team to win, they don't)

  28. Brighton's run in is horrendous. Today aside, they are really going to struggle I think.

We easily matched the team in third today and had enough moments to beat them. We were all worried about the restart and considered voiding the season our best chance of staying up. Imagine being in the shoes of West Ham and Bournemouth fans right now, they look particularly woeful after the restart.

True. Watching the Arsenal game, it was a rubbish game between two sides who looked like they couldn't be bothered, Brighton just wanted it a little more. Never rely on Arsenal, they will always disappoint. Brighton really aren't great, the only reason we didn't beat them was a moment of stupidity from Mariappa. They wouldn't have scored themselves if we'd played for 5 hours

We weren't great today at all, but of the teams down there? Probably put in the best performance. We should be good enough but football throws up things like Brighton did.

Burnley are away to Man City At 8pm on Monday, this must give us a good chance of getting something from next Thursdays game, they also have injury and June 30th contract problems!

Good day for us, more confident now than I was at 12:30 lol. Shame about Brighton, even a draw would have kept them in striking distance, but eh, they have some hard games to come, we can still catch them. Palace are a bitch to play against, but it was crucial that Bournemouth lost as that was probably one of their more winnable games, only three of their remaining games are against teams outside the hunt for Europe. West Ham have some hard games to come, then some more favourable ones, but West Ham gonna West Ham innit, fans or no fans, the atmosphere there seems toxic

Brighton win was annoying, otherwise results have gone well for us today and we are one point further from the relegation zone than we were yesterday

This is the big week. Win at a tired, injury ravaged Burnley and beat Southampton and we're basically there. Get anything less than 3 from those two and it's going to get messy.
