What is he 26-27 ? Worth the gamble at 10m, why he gets limited minutes is beyond me, obviously Woy doesn't see enough in training or he has a stinking attitude. But he is a finisher and he's shown it for Belguim, Dortmund and earlier in his career.

Well we are probably looking for an upgrade on the left so why not Origi, unless Pedro plays there. Therefore if we are looking at loans why not both of them? Just imagine Origi on the left Batshuayi down the middle and Sarr on the right, that would be some strike force

£10m? If that’s what he’d really go for us lot should crowd fund it, absolute no brainer.

Well, he's not actually a winger/wide player, is on a long contract, and wouldn't be let go cheaply at all by Liverpool because he's always been happy to essentially fill the role of benchwarmer/reserve permanently for them.

There's also absolutely no chance they'd loan him anywhere, especially as they already know they have to contend with several of their key attacking players disappearing for the AFCON next season.

Surely we should be looking to PSG for a decent loan? Poch Jnr got a few minutes last week demonstrating the clubs commitment to developing young talent, surely this can't have gone unnoticed by Poch Snr.

    Any decent prospects there?

That's what I reckon, judging by his very limited contribution I could see other other reason he would have come on. Need to check the PSG fringe.

Kalimuendo on loan at RC Lens currently. 19 years old scored 7 goals and has 5 assists in the equivalent of 12 and a half games. RC Lens do have an option to buy in the loan, with PSG also including a buy back option. Nice thing is, that’s its not an obligation to buy, so anyone can still sign him.

Can’t see RC Lens being able to pay what we could as a Prem League team, would be more than happy to have him at Watford. Again though it’s a pipe dream.

I think that depends on the nature of the option. Often the selling/loaning club can’t prevent the sale (provided the player consents to the move) otherwise the ‘option’ wouldn’t be an option. But it can get messy. Aldeweireld’s move to Spurs is a prominent example and I believe it was heavily litigated.

Not a bad shout to try and leverage any potential relationship with Poch; PSG have a superb cadre of young players. Not sure how much influence Poch has on transfers/loans/development pathways there though.

Honestly I'd be more than happy with Pedro on the left with Sema, Cucho maybe as back up. Our main aim is a proper striker, finisher.
But agreed that front three of Sarr, Origi and Batshuayi on paper looks good enough for a very decent season. Unfortunately I can't see it though.

Given that there is a good chance we might be losing and getting outplayed in several games, then signing any PSG players may not be such a good idea given the way they tend to react in that situation.

If we are in the market for players like Origi and Batshuayi (not saying we are), then they should only be signed if they are motivated to make an impact in the PL, and not because it’s an easy move where they can still earn a big wage for not really producing a lot. We have made that mistake before.

I’m not convinced by Origi, never have been.

Batshuayi is obviously a talented striker - but he’s a bit of a nomad and there’s enough to suggest he’s not the most committed of players. The fact he’s been at Palace twice and done next to nothing sounds alarm bells to me. Not saying I wouldn’t want him - but I’d be wary of a loan deal and would rather it be permanent, which would hopefully breed commitment.

Absolutely. We've been down that road before. Any player coming in needs to be buying into what we want to achieve. Yes Batshuayi is an odd one. Palace yells no, but international goals and the Dortmund stint say yes. But what transfer isn't a gamble? Him Batshuayi knowing he's the main man might be all he needs.

Not that impressed by his highlights tbh. Don't know where he would get many minutes for us right now.

I think Batshuayi would be an excellent signing, but I think we’re kidding ourselves a bit even debating that fact, because I’m more sure he’s even a possibility for us.

I guess you could look at his career one of two ways, on one hand why has nobody actually bought him from Chelsea? On the other, perhaps Chelsea have always wanted to keep him?

Either way 22 goals for Belgium in 33 games is clearly not to be sniffed at.

Time to move on and let him grow up, he'll have to manage without us. We'll find our own Brazilian talent.

I believe it's more than possible, he is currently at Palace and I'd put us on a similar stature as them.
Palace fans seem to like him, they just believe he needs a run of games. He's definitely a finisher and is no slouch.
I've honestly not seen a better option on here at the price he's available for. Yes his wages would be big but so are DeeKnee and Grays.
Much better than what we currently have and I could see him hitting the double figure mark.

Oh I fully agree, he’d be an excellent signing. It was really mainly the wages thing as to why I think he’ll be out of our reach though. A lot of Chelsea players are on silly money, a mate of mine is a Fulham fan and he said RLC is on £200k per week. I couldn’t actually believe that to be true, so I googled it and there are plenty of articles that say he’s on around £150k per week though. The issue was with Fulham looking to loan him, is that apparently Chelsea refuse to ever cover part of a players wages but in this case Fulham were insisting they did because his salary was so eye wateringly high.

I’m digressing massively, but I believe in all probability he’ll be on a silly wage at Chelsea that Gino simply won’t pay. Don’t get me wrong, whatever his wages I believe (if his rumoured transfer fee is true) then it would still represent good value overall, I just don’t trust Gino to think the same.

Apparantly Arteta isnt a fan of Martinelli. He's potentially a 20 goals a season PL striker. Would be a fantastic signing. I dont think its beyond us to bring in 3 or 4 really great loan players from other PL clubs and nick a couple of relegated/not promoted players from the champo. As I keep saying we need talented, hungry, young players with something to prove. It should be possible to do that if Scott isnt just BS ing us about being an established PL club.

Agree. Arsenal and Fulham are realistic target areas for geographical reasons plus the outer fringe players of the the top teams such as Man City. We could give these players a platform and hopefully keep us in the premier league without millions wasted on transfer fees. Then it would be a question of slow progression year on year whilst maintaining our premier league status.

I'm sure JP is doing fine attracting mates by himself and doesn't need his employer to step in and pay to provide them, to be honest.

Where you hearing this, MG? The stats don't seem to back it up; not recently, anyway, and I'd be surprised if we didn't see Martinelli at Arsenal longer than Arteta as it stands.

Saying something silly and then justifying it by saying 'I was just making a general comment' doesn't make it make any more sense, and there are plenty of Brazilians both in London and in the footballing world - there's no requirement nor expectation for them all to magically be friends.

We shouldn't be basing our transfer policy on whether or someone feels JP, a millionaire 19 year old who has now been at hte club for two years, needs to be oddly mollycoddled in some way, as you were also inexplicably keen to do when you suggested re-signing 56-year-old Heurelho Gomes solely for the same purpose.
