Lets get back to FOOTBALL!!! This is supposed to be a football forum, but it is rapidly turning into a chat line!!! I am am not adverse to SOME chat about other subjects, but at the moment other subjects seem to be taking over. I am aware that there has not been any matches for a couple of weeks, but other chat has been in the ascendancy before the break!!! There are loads of general chat lines out there and maybe some of you should consider using them instead of spamming up this FOOTBALL FORUM!!! That's all I want to say, Thank you!!! :rant::rant::rant:
Totally agree. I for one get bored having to read through endless banter to get to the genuine discussion. If people want to banter they should do it on Facebook. I am a keen WFC supporter and only want to read the news and sensible debate. I also wish people would stop using these made up names like Ipshitnd disguised swearwords. It's childish.
The red navbar at the top of every page has a link called "Today's Football Posts". Click it and you have none of the chat stuff, (and yes, it works well now ).
There are some Non-football sections and people probably have noting to really write about Watford wise for now?

Yes, but the problem is that they highjack the football threads. For example, all the joking about nicknames and songs on the thread when Rasiak was rumoured to be coming. You had to scroll through endless posts with drivel to be able to read the items debating the real issue, was it true and if so would he be a good acquisition.
Fair point, that is very annoying. Fact is that we can't help unless we either see the issue or it's reported to us. If the report button is used, (small red triangle on every post), then we can act quickly and sort out the problem.
I think having a bit of banter should be encouraged. It's better then monotone answers with no humour etc on the forum. It's not as though every thread gets taken over into an MSN like conversation, pun thread, etc.
Seriously, if every thread were formation/new chant/transfer rumour/board bashing threads it would be equally boring. Highly linked to the price of oil - colours.
you are wrong in my opinion which is the only opinion that matters or carries any weight around here the banter on this forum allows me to educate the less well educated as well as offer some light entertainment for those not partial to wearing polyester it is also a welcome distraction from the mindless drudgery that is the football we are currently producing
typical watford discussion lee is a good goalie no he's not he's a good shot stopper there are other aspects to being a goalie though fin that really stretches the imagination. i mean what information do you otherwise hope to glean from here that you either can't deduce for yourself or isn't summed up in the first 3 posts of a thread?
come on now guys! maybe vor has something worthwhile to say? perhaps some devastating critique of the way we've been playing or some ingenius ideas for loan strategies, which of course can be debated, digested and fed back to the relevant people in power, all through the helpful medium of large font?
This isn't a newspaper, it's a discussion board...y'know, to DISCUSS things. It's been a bit lacking in the Watford football department these days, yet...The board has the magical "Today's Football Posts" button in the little red bar at the top. Please use it. I did all the time, until I noticed the point fan made earlier. You kind of know what is going to be said if you've been around long here. Now, I just check the Wobby occasionally for news.
your optimism whilst charming is naive i am however open minded and prepared to be proved wrong its something i have yet to experience and the thought i might be missing out makes me feel all empty inside
Thank you for proving my point guys, not one of you has said a thing about football, so as I said why not go and have your chats on something like facebook which is designed for general discussion. This is primarily a FOOTBALL FORUM, therefore the main subject should be football, simple really don't you think?
I was in the Oracle Centre in Reading today, and walked past a sports shop , they had a football in the window. A post about football.
It is just that over the last few weeks football chat has been become more and more marginalised and other subjects seem to have come to the fore. Hopefully things might get back to how they should be, now we are back playing, and football may again be the main subject for discussion on this forum, it just got up my nose that every time I have logged on over the last few weeks football has hardly featured on what should be a Football Forum!!!

Honest question for you TVOR: Isn't a forum what its users make it? Everyone on here is brought together by probably the only thing they have in common - WFC. But that's not to say they have to talk about it 24/7 in every single post. This place would die a death if that was the case. Personally speaking I'd rather we had 300 regular diverse users than 30 die hards posting "Guess the attendance" type threads religiously every Friday afternoon.
if your desperate to discuss football why not start a thread? get the conversation started. if you dont have any ideas for things to talk about then i dont think you can complain about the lack of it on here. it would be boring as hell if everyone just discussed watford as every thread would die a slow boring death about 5 posts in
