Should never have been appointed in the first place but lose to Norwich and the Pozzo's need to do what they did to Billy McKinlay.

Pereyra describes QSF as a "normal manager who I have a normal relationship with". Hardly the inspirational character we need is he?

Brings on our worst performing player, a right back, as our final substitution at 2-0 down at home, because we needed someone "deeper" than Janmaat was. Truly incredible and sums him up perfectly.

    Absolutely pathetic manager.

I've given QSF a few games before judging. He also had a start of Man City away, Arsenal home and Wolves away, which isnt easy and I dont apportion blame on him for the 8-0.

Since then we kept 2 clean sheets for the first time in months and created 2 great chances v Sheff Utd, so you could say theres logic in his style. Certainly buys some credit.

But in the Everton game I had vivid flashbacks to his dire end to the season last time, flashbacks to a cup semifinal where we just died, to a grind of poor results. With an insistence on playing ineffective formations. Jurado.

He gets more time because its a kneejerk reaction after even 2 bad games. But he gets less time because we know his colours. If we dont get wins at Norwich or Southampton he needs to go.

WillisWasTheWorst Its making less grammar mistake's thats important

We can all criticise a manager for his defensive style because we’d all rather see exciting attacking football, but the players are not robots fully under his control. For example there’s no way QSF says to them “Don’t you dare have a shot at goal under any circumstances.”, which is what it looked like up at Everton and to some extent yesterday. That’s down to the players’ confidence and indeed desire.

QSF was brought in specifically to tighten the defence, as he was the previous time, to try and keep us in the division but the team is struggling generally from a lack of confidence from the long run without a win and a string of injuries. Derek Payne on 3CR last night actually thought the team selection yesterday was too attacking, starting with Gray, Deulofeu and Pereyra, considering we were playing Chelsea.

The sequence of fixtures coming up in the rest of this month is a real chance to turn things around, but it’s 90% the players on the pitch who are going to have to do it.

Maybe particularly when one cannot trap a ball so any chance of relieving pressure goes and the others aren't the hardest working in terms of defensive duties.

I’m sorry but our tactics are far too defensive and we will never get out of this mess if we are always set up not to loose. We don’t commit enough men forward when we have the ball leaving our forwards badly isolated. We are so easy to defend against. We can all moan about confidence but how is it going to get any better with our negative tactics. We are making mistakes being set up not too loose so we may as well make mistakes trying to win and scoring some goals, having some positive moments in matches rather than it being negative .... we concede a goal and then we continue to to not try and win, not allowing players to move forward from a rigid defensive shape - we pretty much play a back 5 plus 2 defensive midfielders.

we look a far worse team because when we get the ball, the players have no options going forward, teams get back into shape as we have no option but to go side ways or backwards. We have 1 option in the box who is easily snuffed out and there are no runners from midfield. I’m not a fan of Andre Gray, but give the bloke a chance he is so isolated that it’s easy for the opposition to get the ball off him. Yes he has a terrible first touch, but we are so predictable in our play up to him that the defenders anticipate it before we have even played the ball. Yes our passing looks crap, but with no or a single telegraphed option going forward it makes the pass so hard that we look bad when it doesn’t come off and we again loose possession.

Our mentality is all wrong and it stems from Flores. our tactics are archaic and all wrong and that’s down to Flores too. We don’t even press teams into mistakes, we retreat and invite them to play up until the last 3rd .....What message does it send to the players - it says I have no confidence in you to be able to defend on the front foot and win the ball back (positive defending), no confidence when we have the ball to attack and score goals ... nothing Everything is a negative message showing fear and that has infected the players ..... even the substitutions are negative. We don’t have bad players we have a negative club mentality driven by a negative manager. Joao Pedro won’t make any difference as he will be just as isolated.

Our players are better than Newcastle, Sheffield Utd, Norwich, Brighton, Palace, Southampton and probably Villa too and we are on a par with Muff. The difference is they try to win matches and sometimes they do maybe they win 1 in 4 but we draw 2 in 4 .... well guess what’s we are 1 point worse off every 4 games and the lack of any win erodes confidence until we are drawing 1 in 4 or 1 in 5.

Also I seem to recall has having a horrific injury record when Quique was last here ....low and behold it’s dreadful again...co-incidence, no. I suspect it’s his methods and he’s overloading the players in training....leading to all these muscle strains and lethargic performances

... I won’t keep going on and on as I’m starting to bore myself.

If the Pozzos and Duxbury read this then I urge you to find a new , positive manager who can give us a fighting chance - if not then I would start preparing for the championship. Sorry Quique, nothing personal but please go as your not what we need.

I agree with most of this. Yes, we do lack quality up front, but the biggest problem is that we are set up, and play like losers trying to grab a point. These are the same players that were top half for most of last season. It can only be attitude and mindset that is making the difference.

I’m the least knee jerk on here but Quique was a very bad move and he needs to go. Absolutely awful football, one dimensional tactics, no attacking intent.

I still believe there is more than enough quality in this squad, he’s not the man to get the most out of it.

Again. Why don't they try Sports Psychologists or even Hypnotism? Tell Gray he's Lewandowski, Deulofeu he's Messi and Pereyra he's CR7 etc...

In all seriousness, this probably falls into the managers remit, motivation etc. I think sticking with QSF will consign us to relegation. I also doubt he would get us promoted next season. Honestly can't see any reason to keep him.

Yes correct. How can a team have any confidence when everything is geared towards hanging on, or grabbing a point? As I say, these players were good enough to be top half (for most of) last season. Even last season, it was clear that we played against the top six frightened. We played in those games like we are now playing every game, frightened.

That is about fragile players not having the leader/team giving the right messages. Possibly, that starts from the very top.

Quality, maybe. But absolutely zero heart or desire. There is no leadership, no will to win. The amount of tackles we bottle out of each game is criminal.

The players don't give a to5s because if we go down they will force a move away - why should they care? W4nkers.

It's just all very passive. We don't win 50/50s, don't go with runners and the players don't have a clue what to do with the ball when they get it apart from pass it backwards.

In the last international break he sorted the defence by going to a back five. I have a feeling the club will be giving him this international break to sort the attack as a few players are returning. If he screws it up and we don't look any better against Burnley and Southampton then I don't see how he stays or how we stay up.

This is true. I hear lots of people screaming 'forward' each time we get the ball, then when it was lumped forward to Gray for Chelsea to win back possession people grumbled. It is directionless and there is a growing divide between the pitch and the stands.

The last few games have not been must win in my view, we've picked up a few decent points and generally looked defensively organised. Friday IS a must win.

Yep, we played decent football a couple of times yesterday but it didn't really go anywhere. The players rarely have a forward pass apart from the long one up to Gray which is beyond pointless.

Personally I don't think Quique will change how we attack, I just think Troy will come into the side and the long balls will continue. That won't change the fact that we get so few bodies around the strikers.

Watching MOTD last night I noticed how other teams have at least 3 or 4 players sprinting to get forward when attacking. Southampton scored at Man City because when the long range shot came in they had 4 or 5 players in the City box. Can you imagine us doing that away to City?!

Our injury record was fine, it was under Mazarri that is it was awful. You also cannot blame the injuries we are getting on a manager that's been here 6 weeks. They all look like niggling muscle injuries which probably means under prepared for the season and that is not Flores fault. He may not be the right man but don't just make up things like that

I'm not so sure about that. He's been here long enough to get the lie of the land. He might not like the physical condition of the squad he inherited, but he has to work with what he's got. No point beasting them in training if this is the result. You can't make up for a crap pre-season now. It's up to him and his fitness coach to get the intensity of training right so the players can play for 90+ minutes.

I do think though some of the injuries are exactly the type of twinges and minor worries that players ignore when things are going well but feel every bit of when performances are crap.

I have got it wrong re: injuries thanks for the correction - but getting something wrong and making something up are two different things.

I would suggest then that as Flores hasn’t had a pre season and i agree the players appear under prepared. That the urgency of the situation has forced him to maybe gamble on an increased workload and consequently is pushing players too hard and they are picking up non contact injuries. If this is the case he is partly responsible in that he and his team need to manage the load better - my opinion and it could be wrong but it can’t be just bad luck to loose, Welbeck (ok he doesn’t count), Capoue, Cleverly, Cathcart, Sarr, Quina all to, as I understand it non contact injuries.

I do agree that it appears our pre season was wasted and players were not fit enough .... but it’s not like 20 years ago when you didn’t have all the sports science and computer data to compare - everything is measured, recorded and compared. Now if the players were not at least equal levels of fitness for this seasons opening game as they were last season - then all the team responsible for arranging pre season, for fitness and conditioning incl. the manager should of been sacked immediately as they’re is no excuse for not being fit.

I was hugely surprised to see him back and the fact we haven't won a game yet is a massive concern. Everybody on here was complaining about the amount of goals we were conceding so get a manger in to sort this out which i
He maybe partly responsible but it’s a very small part. He’s got try and get people fit part the way through a season which very difficult to do with an entire squad
