Faurlin never cost us £3.5 million. It was UP to £3.5 million. He cost us around £500k actually and has been quality.

    Anyway well done Watford.

I think you would be fools to hound Magilton out. Success is rarely instant, and you are shooting youselves in the foot by sacking managers after 20 games or however many games you keep sacking them by.

He did a good job at Ipsh!t and he is doing a decent job with you lot. When you destroy several teams in a row playing free scoring, fluid football and then lose a couple of games it is not the end of the world.

Still aint got me voice back, man oh man I thought it was Ellington who scored and then when we realised it was Lloydiniho, the roof came off the house. Just wish wed been there to see it but such is life.

Bar not sending off Stewart I thought the ref had a very good game, probably the best we have had all season.

Agree with that. One of the best refs I've seen with allowing play to continue and then blowing for the foul if needed.

Even then, he consulted his lino who was yards away from the incident. He did a decent job.

    I love him.

True, the ref was excellent. Let the game flow, aside from not sending off whoever-it-was for the two footed lunge into harley's shins, best ref we have had in a while.

Looked like a Russian spy though.

Agreed. I thought the ref was exceptional! Makes a bloody change!

Although I don't think you can blame the ref for not sending off that big lump! He went on the advice of his assistant.

I should've demanded they played it in the union or wandered into town. i had to watch it online and no one seems to understand why i made so much noise for 1 goal

I think stewart didnt get sent off because he only caught his foot whereas if it was on his ankle it would have been a red.

Sadly, I've not been able to get to a live game yet this season but thoroughly enjoyed last nights performance.

Hats off to Lloyd for his goal.

A few others I'd single out for praise, although the whole team were good, were:-

Hodson - very good performance both defensively and attacking - some of his crosses were top notch - very calm for an 18 year old.

Eustace - really held things together in midfield - shame about his free kick!

Cowie - great passing movements with Hodson and Cleverley and took his goal superbly.

Cleverley - United have a gem there - oh how I wish we could sign him - he never stopped running all game and is not afraid of recieving the ball in any position.

I've been watching the Hornets since 1966 and I reckon some of the passing and movement last night, albeit agaist QPR, was some of the best I've witnessed.

Also praise for the referee, whoever he was, he was one of the best I've seen for ages.

Well done Hornets and well done Malky.

Lloyd scoring was the icing on a very good team performance in tricky conditions but we still tried to play football and looked pretty comfortable against what you would think were a decent attacking QPR side but they were poor.

Cowie and Cleverley's goals were well taken but ofcourse the highlight will always be THAT header (nice finish too) at such an important moment just before half time.

Another impresse home display with the added boost of DeMerit coming back.

More of the same on Saturday against a side that make our recent away record look good - not sure if Derby have won on their travels yet.

I have downloaded the highlights from the link I provided earlier - decent quality 5 minute highlights with LDs goal the cherry on top.

My reaction is well done Doyley. Shame you gave QPR the lead by turning your back on the advancing striker. Though at least for the one and only time in your career to date you did the only decent thing after fooking up and went and corrected it the only way a professional player knows how. ie. scoring a goal.

Even Olzy gave him some credit for his performance!

I wonder when Cathcart will "do the decent thing after fooking up" again last night - he was also allowing the player to run and have a decent crack at goal?

No surprise Jay came on at half time...and he did well.

Ellington may have lost his chance to break into the team....he was going off 10 mins into the 2nd half just before Cowie scored which pretty much summed up his performance I felt.

Cathcart lost his man, Doyley came to try and cover but also had to keep one eye on Routledge on the right wing meaning he couldn't go in to Agyemang fully just in case he passed to Routledge.

Somebody else's astute view of their goal.

I don't think Lloyd is to blame - his job was to cover the striker's potential move further across the face of goal.

By turning his back on the bloke? That's amateur hour defending I'm afraid. Even the Sky chaps said as much. Listen, I'm not making a big deal out of it. He scored a fine goal and was pretty much unbeatable from then on. Just wish those who jizz everywhere at the mere thought of him would acknowledge his obvious and significant deficiencies as a player.

Everyone does acknowledge Lloyd's deficiencies, that's why everyone is jizzing everywhere.

I still don't think Lloyd could have done much with that QPR goal anyway. Had he charged in from LB, Agyemang would have instead winged it to Routeledge in acres of space who would have finished Cowie style.
