i was lucky enough to meet Perry Groves at my next door nighbour's (Paul Merson!)wedding when i was younger. He had sunglasses on during the ceremy and it was not until afterwrds that i realised why, as he took them off for the photos to show two exceedingly red and blurry eyes. he then proceeded to drink, about 15 larger chasers and tell rude jokes to all us young kids there. top bloke!
