Close it and let's just celebrate
So the ****** hornetboy1 was completely and utterly wrong then.
There's a reason why 40 points is commonly seen as the amount you need to stay up. It's because if a team is relegated they are a poor side and if they are a poor side they are not going to get above 40 points. Hull are a poor side. Poor sides do thing like losing at home to Sunderland and getting battered by Crystal Palace. Using ifs and buts is irrelevant because it didn't happen and there was never any indication that it would.
It was quite obvious for everyone to see that 40 points would be more than enough to keep us up comfortably and that has proved to be correct.
That's true.......but we have to leave it open for a while yet, as the "I told you so's" can have their say.
But the real question is, now we're mathematical certain of staying up, how long is it before Mazzarri gets the chop?
Who'd have thought Hull would fail? I certainly didn't take that into account when I said we were safe, oh no. Nor did the bookies. They didn't see it coming. You've just be let down by one of life's freak outcomes. Unlucky.
I totally agree mate, I was just joking.
Your absolutely loopy hb1 if you generally think we were ever in a relegation battle. We have been safe since we reached 40 points. Of course theoretically it was still possible, at the same time it's theoretically possible that we could be hit by a meteor the size of the moon and wiped out tomorrow. However we are not living in a state of doomsday awareness, in exactly the same way that we were never in a relegation battle.
I completely agree that performances have been poor and I am currently very concerned about next season. However at no point this season have we been at a risk of relegation.
You've been quiet lately.....but I knew you'd come out of the woodwork bang on the final whistle........
Cancel the final game of the season and just have HB1 vs Relegation certs
We could still quite easily finish 17th, one place above the drop, by only a few points, it's a fact that that would mean we ran it pretty damn close.
It's been a horrible season of across the board regression on the pitch so I'm just glad we are now officially, 100% safe.
P.s. Mazzarri out.
On another note I'm really not sure how exactly some of the playground bullying and straight up abuse aimed at hb1 doesn't result in bans, particularly when it's pretty much constant day in, day out?
I'm delighted we're now 100% and also that I've been proved correct once again. You have been far too complacent, and you know it, but will just take the opportunity to gloat for some reason because we stayed up. I expect nothing less from you and a swathe of others though, so it's no surprise.
I never said we would go down though did I? We got lucky that Hull failed, because it was something out of our control. We could have beaten them a few weeks ago but didn't. This was the moment when we could have done something about our destiny, but failed. Had they stayed strong as Swansea, then we'd have been in real trouble and you know it.
It's strange really, considering you're far more of a witless terd than he is.
We're only above Swansea now and they're playing an on-the-beach-for-a-month West Brom, and in good form. We're very likely to finish 17th, with the bare minimum points required having lost 6 in a row, not scoring in at least the first 4 of those, most probably not in all 6, and having not scored an away goal since January. That Palace win did what we need it to do but it also, of course, took them above us in the table.
Other than mathematical certainty, which seems to be utterly irrelevant to a few posters on here anyway, we've got nothing much to celebrate here, and this result does nothing to us as a team or Walter as a manager. Roll on getting raped by a Man City team in a 4 way tussle for the Champions League places on the final day.
I totally agree. One or two posters on here make it their business to be incredibly unpleasant characters to a point I'm genuinely surprised at from people professing to be adults. The hypocrisy alone is breathtaking.
Put a fiver on us to go down at 78473839/1.
You laugh now but it could happen.
People let's celebrate and concentrate on dissing the common enemies.
We all love our club but we should just have a massive ' love in' now and look forward to saying goodbye to Walter this week.
It's not been pretty, sometimes it's been a bit of an effort to travel to away games knowing the outcome but we're off to Brighton next season.
We are doomed.
Keep this thread open for next year.
We are doomed I tell you. Doomed.
He loves every minute of it. That's probably why the others don't get banned.
Chumlax your wrong. The bare minimum would have been having a goal difference of +1 over hull. As a minimum we will have three points to many and its most likely to be 6 points. That is not a bare minimum.
Let's all concentrate on the Walter out thread now.
I just meant the bare minimum of the magical 40 points that have formed that basis of every single argument about safety on here for 3 months. Though fair,I take your point, although the fact that we can be in a situation to have this discussion does not bode amazingly well for us, I'd say.
Settled at last and thank God for that, because we can't thank Walter!
Now I think we ought to start picking over the bones at Hull, starting with their manager
I've already started learning Russian.
It so sure about their manager owing to their away record but the goalie would be a good signing.
Group hug everybody.
We're in the EPL for a third season on the spin.
Now the boys can really relax and play Chelski and City off the park ....
You lot will be crying when we lose our next 2 games 7-0 and Hull win their next two 1-0...you heard it here first....
If anyone consistently shows themselves to be "witless", then you yourself are right in the mix at the top of the list. You spend most of your time on these forums digging people out and throwing around insults rather than having any real contribution to the football related discussion itself, unless it's in a way where it gives you the opportunity to hurl some abuse about.
Never in doubt.
Literally not true
Id rather we finish as close to the drop as possible (now that we are safe) to guarantee Walter is sacked
I think that particular die is already cast. Their opinion of how well/badly he's done would already have been made by now.
And now we have WFCNath of all people complaining about name-calling and abuse and asking for people to be banned for it.
This thread just keeps delivering!
How about taking a look at your posting style, thinking about why people are 'taking it the wrong way', and modifying it?
Can we open the 17/18 relegation thread now please?
