Good because we all want players who want to wear the shirt, try hard and even if they lose give it their all. Chelsea must be lining up academy kids. They'll win too.

Seriously? The Zola/Sannino season trumps it big time.

Agree, toughest time for the pozzo's currently. The football we are playing is quite frankly horrific.

I agree these are more challenging times for Gino. The stakes of relegation next season are far greater than if we hadn't got promoted the following year.

As it stands we are relying on other teams to finish off the job for us because we seem to have nothing left in the tank

A very good performance last night, I thought, and if we'd taken one of the very reasonable chances we created we'd have got a well deserved point.

If Swansea win at bottom of the table Sunderland and Hull win at relegated threatened Palace on Sunday......then it goes to the final day!!

We are currently 11 goals better than Hull, so the fact we didn't lose by a hatful last night is a big deal. Although Hull's unexpected home defeat to Sunderland last week is the result that's probably saved us.

We've been so close to relegation this season, yet only a very few could see it. I think only now, is the reality of the situation dawning on people.

    Ok we get it!

(Reckon most know we've have a poor season performance wise but just don't go on about it each day..)

So have most of the bottom 10 really if you think about it.

A few teams will need to look at themselves and know they need to improve some what.

The fact we keep losing to nil and still are still not anywhere near actual trouble is a sign that your reality is not the reality the rest of us are in. Most teams in the bottom half of the PL are 'close to relegation' in any given season. Take away a couple of wins and add one to the team in 18th and that's normally sufficient enough to flip it all around.

Then why do they dismiss the concerns of people by saying we've been "safe as houses" for weeks now, and we're still not? We're a comfortable mid-table side, never been close to relegation all season. This is the line a lot of people have taken and have believed......and still do. We would never lose 9 of the last 12 or the last 6.....people just could not see it happening.

But it's all an illusion. I just found it frustrating, only a few could see it for what it was and so few could accept the notion we are not safe until it's mathematical.

It's still feasible we could play Man City with a prospect of having to get a point in order to confirm our EPL status.......that's not a club that's been safe for weeks/months.

I would have thought that the superiority of our goal difference vs Hull's (which you yourself alluded to in your previous post) will mean that we won't need to do this.

You are probably right, but we will have to see what damage Chelsea do, if they win big, and also if Hull win, how many do they win by. Swansea also have to win today at Sunderland of course. If we are within 5 goals of Hull's GD come Sunday, then it's all to play for.

I think most of us could always see the possibility of relegation with our impossibly difficult run in but relegation still only a very remote possibility .Wee have never been in the bottom three all season and it was always likely that teams below us would slip up somewhere. Palace losing to Burnley was unexpected as was Hull losing to Sunderland.
Even after losing last night we are still not being talked about as relegation candidates in the media who have pretty much ignored us again this season and can't find any betting company offering odds. Even worst case scenario is goal difference of 11 between us and Hull needs to be turned round, not happening.

My hope is that Sunderland beat Swansea and Hull beat Palace leaving Palace in danger of going down on the last day.

I'd rather Swansea stay up than Hull, so I'd rather Swansea win today and then Hull lose tomorrow so it's mathematically confirmed there's no possible chance of relegation and as annoying as Palace can be, we can still have our 12/13 Playoffs reunion party next season.

If Hull win 2/3-0 today at Palace, and say we lose 4 or 5-0 to both Chelsea and Man City, which is far from impossible. That would leave Hull possiblity only needing to beat Spurs by one or two goals to finish above us.

I too, don't think that is going to happen, but it is not as unlikely as many of you are claiming

Just chuck a tenner on Hull and Swansea winning this weekend. If it happens you have £70 odd to ease the pain, if it doesn't it's worth a tenner for the relief.

What's more frustrating is that when Hull drop points tomorrow, or when we stay us on goal difference, lots will say "told ya, nothing to worry about, always knew Sunderland would win at Hull" ! Hull winning big is unlikely in their 2 games, but if they win tomorrow we need to play to keep the scores low in the last 2 games. Otherwise losing by 4 or 5 in both games is possible.

Of course we're already safe. The goal difference will obviously not be turned around. But it certainly hasn't been pretty.

We might get something from Chelsea anyway, if they play their reserves. They've got the cup to focus on, and they'll hopefully have been out celebrating.

Edit: It's just hit me that I'm preying for opposition hangovers, as our only chance of scoring right now. I've never wanted a summer break so badly.

Let's face it, Watford haven't "stayed up" this season, we've "survived".

Unless a miracle happens and we beat Chelsea and Man City we won't beat last year's points tally.

We're relying on other teams to be worse than us to keep us in the Premier League.

    Who's fault? Everyone's.

Found myself blissfully not bothered how this season could turn out. Thanks Walter you've temporarily made me not care about the club I've supported for 30 years. Even Bassini or Petchey didn't manage that

Its sad to think really. Everyone going to be an armchair palace fan tomorrow. We should of beaten Southampton on the opening day, we played well with confidence and a swagger we haven't seen since the Man Utd win. Swansea winning isn't a huge deal... never thought I'd say this but "cm on Palace"

Hope Hull beat Palace, that would mean that three teams contending for one final relegation spot. I do not believe Hull can make up 11 goals on us over two games and anyway I fancy we will get at least a point from our last two games. Hull getting the win might also make our team realise the last two games are worth bothering with. If Hull win and we lose at a Chelsea; for us to go down Swansea have to win at home to West Brom, Hull have to win at home to Spurs, Crystal Palce have to win away at Man Utd and we have to lose at home to Man City and have a worse goal difference than Hull. If at half time on the last day that was on the cards it would make for a decent bit of atmosphere at the Vic

I hope Hull lose and are relegated. Then Gino can pull out all the stops to get Silva in at Walter's expense. Apart from that I couldn't care less anymore about football until August now.

I want hull to win 10-0. Thus increasing the probability of us going down. Then I want us to be 3 down to man city in the last minute and heading down, until up pops troy deeney with a stoppage time (14 minutes played) hat trick. Hull, who finished early were watching on tv and end up relegated. The live pictures of their despair become iconic.

Palace also go down over financial irregularities.
