If our resident lurker and plagiarist, Adam Leventhal is to be believed we have allowed the team 3 weeks off with a return likely to be the 17th August.

That would then allow us just 3.5 weeks to get together a new manager, integrate new faces (lol at any coming in before deadline day anyway) and bring back a squad with a history of not starting seasons (or restarts) fit and ready.

I understand players need rest, a lot of football has just been played in the last few weeks and next season is going to involve a lot of football too but there was a significant break during lockdown and these are unusual circumstances.

I imagine other teams are doing similar in terms of break but there's not many out there that is likely to have the turnover of players we will be having and trying to embed a new manager and bringing across new ideas.

It all seems a bit optimistic in terms of getting the team ready for our first game?

Yep. Two weeks break should be enough. I guess there's an element of 'player power' involved.

We only need a couple of days to get ready. We’re that good. It’s only Championship you know.

We're far too good to need pre-season.

As most of the players are already match fit having only just stopped playing in a mini season of Nine games, a three week break should not effect their fitness levels to much. Therefore a four week pre-season should be ample preparation IMO.

  8. It’s not like anyone can have a pre season tour

Back, some jogging, game of 5 aside, bit more jogging, bish bosh pre season done

We were unfit this past season, no doubt we will continue this trend for the Championship.
The season should begin in October same as the National League.
    An interesting close season

Presumably Gino has boomed them all into an exclusive Spanish resort for three weeks. With quarantine on their return we only have a week to plan and practice how to let in another first half hat trick in our opening game

Absolutely, 2/3 games a week since the restart has been too much loool, it's actually a relief to be rid of it for a short while at least

Really don't understand the fuss. We've already played 3 pre-season games,a tough schedule too against WHU, Citeh, and the arse after securing our safety by beating Newcastle. Useful workouts but you can never quite match the intensity of a real competitive game, as evidenced by the half hearted performances. Every confidence we'll be ready for the big kick off. What's the betting it will be BHA at home again...lol.

If they all fly off to Spain it could be just 1.5 weeks!
